Spider vein leg misery!

Apologies if this has been done before - I found threads talking about spider veins on faces but not on legs.

Have a Christmas holiday coming up in a hot climate and was pondering my hideous legs last night. I have large patches of spider veins on my upper things and smaller patches on my outer side knee area and ankles. I do fake tan which helps but apart from surgical treatment (which is possibility for future if I save but not for right now) are there any lotions or potions which can help??

I think you can actually buy leg make-up to cover it up, but I doubt that any creams will have any real effect.

They don't really mention it much on the blurb but Mama Mio's Lucky Legs (www.mamamio.com/uk/lucky-legs.html) really helped my veins when I was pregnant and post birth. I looked it up and it says it contains spearmint which is "Cooling, fresh and aromatic, uplifting and also vasoconstricting ? helps reduce dilated capilliaries." so that must be why. Good luck! :-)

I really wouldn't waste your money - I've got them and not sure there's evidence for any lotions and potions - save your dosh for laser/ injections in the longer run of they bother you - sorry if that sounds doom and gloom - am seeing derm constultant for mine next month.

I had mine injected a few years ago. It cost $200 for an area the size of a pound coin and really didn't do anything Sad. I've heard mixed things about laser; apparently they are better for facial veins than leg ones? May be worth investigating further. Apparently they are genetic and even if you treat them successfully you can't stop new ones from appearing.

In the meantime I wear a lot of trousers and am keeping my fingers crossed that floor-length skirts will come back into fashion.
