luxury shampoo alternative to frizzease?

Any suggestions?

I'm growing my hair (coarse, wiry, frizzy- lovely!) as long as the condition of it will allow. I use frizzease shampoo conditioner and styling products.

I would like something a bit nicer. Is tigi any good? Budget is probably up to about £20 for a bottle.

Have you tried the Curly Girl method? It's the sulphates in shampoo that strips the hair of moisture and causes frizz. So look for shampoo with no or low-sulphates - Boots Naked range is sulphate free or Tresemme Naturals is supposed to be v good.

Then you need a conditioner with no silicones (they coat your hair and while they make it shiney they then need a sulphate shampoo to get them out) Again, Tresemme Naturals would be a good place to start. Original source are also silicone-free, as is Loreal nutri gloss (big pink tub)

Thanks. Tried nutri-gloss actyally, not very impressed.

The trouble with my hair, is that it's the actual texture of it that's the problem to start with. It's very 'crinkly'. I have tried so many things over the years, including gentler, organic, less chemicals etc. They just show my natural hair, which I don't want! Grin I want shiny curls, and so far lots of chemicals has been the only way that has worked to get it!

Try Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo and conditioner, it's brilliant.

Just googled it, doing a lot of those things already I think. Don't wash my ahir more than once a week, don't own a hairdryer or a brush.

If I went the whole hog wouldn't that mean I'd have to stop dying it? I haven't seen my real hair colour since I was 15!

Thanks Selks, not moisturising enough though I'm afraid. I buy that in emergencies when frizzease is not on offer.

Hairdressers have often commented that I have afro texture hair, but the curl is actualyl more fo a wave, so it looks very frizzy.

Oh and it's VERY thick so definitely no volumising either!

I've been very impressed with Kiehls. They only have one UK shop (in Convent Garden) but Space NK also sell it and they have a good online store. My hair is the best it has been for years!

the loreal damage repair range (golden yellow bottles) work well.

I have used a Shea Liquid shampoo from Sheabutter cottage and I really liked it. I have cury hair that is very prone to frizz at the front, and frizz ease doens't work for me. This shampoo took a little getting used to, a lot thinner and less lather, and i felt that is was harder to wash out, but I used condidioner and mousse as normal and the curls were really lovely. no frizz at all. the bottle i got was £10, but postage is £5 (next day) so I am waiting until i have a few more pennies and getting a few bottles on one go.

I liked this shampoo so much I only used it when I went out and needed nice curls, not for every day (I use whatever is on offer at the supermarket normally)

Another vote for Kiehls. Their Silk Groom styling product is brilliant and they do a lovely serum. Great range of shampoos and treatments also. If you know anyone going to the USA, it's MUCH cheaper there but if you're near their shop, they've very generous with their samples. (Unlike some places where they treat you like a beggar if you ask for a sample!)

The Sebastian range is also very good. www.lookfantastic.com usually have a discount.
