Where to get a bridesmaid dress for a 4 year old?

Dd will be a flowergirl for a forthcoming wedding in March.
I've looked in BHS and Monsoon but I'm after something plain whitish with a detachable sash (bride's requirements). A lot of them seem to have a tie at the back but one without is preferred so that a sash in the matching bridal colours can be fitted.

I've also look at Debenhams and John Lewis online. Any other suggestions online please?

Next?

You may well be able to unpick a sash ...

FritziGreenEyes · 18/11/2011 20:25

Cyrillus, La Redoute, Vertbaudet, I love Gorgeous???

Or just unpick the sash like ruby suggested.

Thanks, off to browse ...

I'm sure Tulip and Nettle will make them without sashes if you ask them. They make them with different coloured sashes to order, so I'm sure it would be just as easy for them to leave the sash off.

re. unpicking a sash - if you do, make sure you do it/get it done in good time. I bought a bridesmaid's dress for DD from Just Dresses and thought it wouldn't be too hard to take off the sash, but it turned out to be pretty well sewn in to the waist band. It was done for us by the person who was altering the bride's dress, but it was still a bit of a rush before the wedding.

Dessy Group do flower girl dresses in lots of different colours - you could find a stockist and ask if the sashes are detachable? I assume they are. Stockist list here

You might be better off in an outlet village if you're near one, since they're more likely to have a bit of left over summer stock (so more white dresses rather than all the sparkles and velvet around at the moment for Christmas)

This might be completely the wrong style (not very traditional), but looks like the belt comes off?

I assume you want more "party dress" style dresses though, with a puffy skirt?

Not sure about the website but....ideal?

(I'll stop soon - it's just a really slow evening!)

BHS.

wildheaven · 19/11/2011 00:28

That's a tall order, bride may not realise the cost implications... ours didn't. In the end we went for Little Bevan here - lovely, classic, but cost a bit more.

gregssausageroll · 19/11/2011 07:51

IMO the BHS ones are a bit cheapy looking. You can get nicer in John Lewis.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I really like some of the Tulip and Nettle ones and they seem to be very good value for money. One of the bridesmaid (my sister) is coming up to stay tomorrow so I'll get her opinion about colour coordination.

Thanks all.
