foundation/tinted moituriser for dry skin

I see there is a thread at the minute re rosacea, but would anyone have any advice re make up for dry skin/eczema please?

In the last year or two my face has started to be affected with very dry patches and in the last few weeks I have had a bit of a break out under my eyes.

I use prescription wash/moisturisers but have been avoiding cosmetics other than mascara and blusher. I look terrible and could do with a bit of coverage for the winter!

Has anyone had any success with a foundation or tinted moisturiser range?

thanks.

Hi there,

I totally know the problem of dry skin - and all sorts of other skin problems!!! Over the years I've come to realise that so much comes down to all the things we use/get in contact with our skin every day...the number of 'badies' in pretty much all regular products, be it body care, household or what-not, is uncountable and actually very, very scary!

I got so fed up with it all that I joined an eco-friendly company who do all kinds of products, all of which are natural, organic and eco-friendly - hence so much better for the environment and yourself! I'd never go back to normal supermarket/drugstore brands...

Anyway, to cut a long story short. We just launched a fabulous range of mineral make up, which is completely free of all the chemicals etc. like parabens, talc, artificial additives etc. The feedback so far has been phenomenal as it is especially good for all sorts of problem skins. Many people have said that it's the first make up they're able to wear! It's all in powder form and is applied differently to normal make-up, but it feels great to wear and is actually good for the skin.

Let me know if you're interested and I can send you some more info on it, feel free to pm me :) I hope this helps! x

I use a moisturiser from bodyshop, and use Nivea tinted moisteriser on top. It works wonders. Nivea tinted is too dry for my skin, that's why I use my normal moisteriser as well. But then I have combination skin.

Although I don't have excema my skin can be dry and quite sensitive. I use an Avon minerals foundation and it is amazing. Also is light enough to use during the day

Yes the AVON Minerals foundation should be fine. I use the powder. Also AVON Calming Effects is good for dry skin. All AVON is hypoallergenic and non-pore clogging. AVON is against animal testing.

I have very dry flaky skin...especially around my mouth and chin area. I have to be careful about the foundation I use otherwise it sticks to my dry bits and looks awful!

After trying lots and lots of different types of foundations I'm now happy with Clinique Repairwear Anti Aging foundation...it's especially for dry to very dry skin and also gives a high coverage. But if you were after a more sheer coverage you could try Clinique's SuperMoisture foundation.

My favorite foundation for dry and flakey skin, especially those with eczema is MAC' s Face & Body Foundation. It is water based so it's very moist without being greasy and it doesn't stick to the dry patches like a lot of foundations do.

Have you tried Liz Earle tinted moisturiser? Her products are generally great for dry/ sensitive/ eczema skin. Am sure if you contacted them their customer services would send you a sample to get colour right. I've always found them to have excellent Customer service.

thanks so much everyone, I shall go off and do some research.

Garam, I too have dry patches round my mouth and cannot drink red wine as it seems to be absorbed leaving a lovely pink stain!
