calling all seriously pale people...

How do you feel about being pale? I am virtually white, and am pondering whether the time has come to accept that I need a bit of colour to look my best. In the past I've always made the pale + interesting thing my 'look', but I'm finding it harder as I get older and more tired.

I am very lazy and I hate the feel of creams on my body, so fake tan feels like a major ballache to me. I can't use sunbeds cause I have loads of moles & I don't think a regular spray tan is realistic or affordable really.

I don't know what to do, + I'm wondering what other people do. Do you work with what is and just flaunt your whiteness? Take a moderate approach and just use a gradual facial tanner? Or commit to the upkeep of regular fake tanning?

I absolutely know that pale can be beautiful, but I'm finding I have to make more and more effort not to look ill + shattered.

Any thoughts?

I am another pale and interesting person. I don't tan although I do get a few freckles. Never wear make up and only tried fake tan once (and got some weird skin reaction when I put on sun screen and went blotchy all over - not good!).

The clothes you wear can make an enormous difference. I went to a House of Colour session with a good friend, and it was amazing to watch how her face changed with the colour swatches. I am a deep summer (deep jewel colours look best on me) and I can't wear cream but look good in winter white.

With the right colours (and with enough sleep, not too much stress and a good diet) I look great (in my opinion :)). Generally speaking when people ask me if I am tired/ill I am indeed not feeling great. ds has my colouring and it is really obvious when he is under the weather.

I get my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted at beauty salon and it makes a huge difference, means u don't have to muck about with eyebrow pencil and mascara, x

I'm not bothered about being pale. I have never tanned or fake tanned.
I do however need concealer under the eyes, a swirl of pinky blusher, and a little mascara so as not to look as though I've died. But that lot takes 2minutes at the traffic lights on the way to work, so is no hardship.

This can sometimes be an age/lifestyle problem, I think.

I am deathly pale. Grey, in fact. I do a light moisturiser (one of those gradual tans) a couple of times each week. The trick is not to use too much, then you don't end up all sticky and smelling like a wet biscuit (classic self tan smell). I do it for me. Otherwise I look like I've been dug up!!

Racially, I do a whisper of foundation, blush, mascara with a pinky lippy. If I went out without that, I'd get the "are you alright?" thing and then I'd FEEL I'll!!
