Why have my eyes gone like this???

I am in my early 40's and for a few years now and, I'm not sure I can explain this clearly, but the socket lines underneath my eyes are visible. No matter how good the rest of the skin on my face looks, my face looks old because of my eyes. Please someone tell me they have this too and give me a magical remedy Grin

Sounds like tear troughs. If you do a search you will find other threads about this and tips on how to disguise them with make up.

Touche Eclat is what you need (or cheaper equivalent).

I don't know, but I'd say they're fairly inevitable. You could embrace it (and conceal it when you can be arsed), or opt to look less wrinkly but permanently startled. Personally I go for the former (and so does my bank account)

I think I know what you mean.

Last week DS drew a picture of me - the sort where he's looking at my face then back to the paper, to get a proper likeness.

Under each of my eyes he drew a little semi-circle. When I asked what it was, he said 'the sort of curve that goes under your eyes'.

No magical remedy. I am fond of bare escentuals mineral make-up but it only hides the darkness, not the bagginess.

You can 'have them done'. I have mine filled, lasts a year, doesn't hurt and makes a real difference. I go to a very reputable doctor in Harley Street. It's a v subtle procedure and nobody notices, except me.

DizzyDummy · 13/11/2011 17:59

How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?

I have been staring at my 'tear troughs' on and off all day. Now that they have a name and a potential fix, I am obsessed with them. They are really terrible.

As well as cost, I want to know how you know a doctor is reputable. I don't know anyone with personal experience to ask.

DizzyDummy · 13/11/2011 23:49

Dearprudence I am feeling your pain!!!

I think I have read that cutting back on salt, caffeine and alcohol is helpful for bagginess around the eyes. So basically, everything nice.

Clinique Airbrush Concealer is good for the dark circles.

YY the curse of tear troughs. I found out from MN too They're genetic too, afaik.

snoozingbeauty · 14/11/2011 20:51

i had that. And I'm not saying I don't look my age (39), but I haven't had a 'you look tired" for ages. I'm using this, Mama Mio Eye Know: www.mamamio.com/uk/face/eye-know.html/ Love the fact it's all you need in one, rather than faffing with gels, creams, roll-ons bla blah...

Dr. Tracy Mountford, Harley St. Costs in the region of £400+ depending in how much filler is required. A friend who always looks great recommended her to me. I also did a lot of research before going ahead.

Dr. Mountford is very well respected in the industry. She regularly appears on TV, 'Ten Years Younger' that kind of thing. She is v professional but warm and friendly. She promotes 'baby' procedures (baby Botox, etc.) which greatly appeals to me, and consequently you will not leave her practice with a pillow face, just a fresher version on 'you'.

Thank you Smile
