Fake White stuff churchy coat on ebay ?

Has anyone else bought one of these and thought it was fake? I will keep the coat as its a lovely colour (berry) but it is not the quality I would expect from the white stuff. The lining seems especially cheap. The sizing is a bit off too as the sleeves are too long. The label had been slightly ripped off and no usual pink bow which has always been on other things. Should I voice my doubts on the feed back ?

To be fair the label being ripped off is mentioned by the seller perhaps it is genuine and its just the quality of white stuff going down.

White stuff is terrible quality these days - bought a tunic this year and it had bobbled and faded awfully after only two washes. I also sent stuff back because I thought it was shoddy - depends on the item though, a denim skirt I had was fine. Nice coat tbw.

The cinch-y bit at the back (is there a word for that bit? The sort of half-belt with buttons that gives it a waist at the back) looks very high - is it in the wrong place in RL?

It is about level with the bottom of my chest. DP is saying its a nice coat what am I fussing about?! Compared to a similar coat I bought from boden in the clearance sale for £20 it is certainly not as well made as that.

Perhaps they're factory seconds, isn't that what usually ends up sold on with ripped labels?

I find WS clothes to be poor quality.

Some Boden clothes are excellent quality (some aren't!)

Yes I think that might be the case Suepurblybilt as I would not think whitestuff was copied in the same way that Burberry or something might be.
I bought the denim havana skirt from the white stuff(not ebay!) and thought it was beautifully made with lovely little details like the colored seams on the inside.

I bought this coat last year and ummed and ahhed over whether to keep it because the cinch-y bit at the back did seem too high to me. In the end I kept it because I loved the colour and, as you say, OP, the arms are very long, which suits me because I am tall with correspondingly long arms. Also, I've just checked my coat and there is no pink bow on the label. I agree with you that the lining isn't super quality but, all in all, to me it doesn't look like you've got a fake.

Thanks Sariska so I am presuming you got yours directly from white stuff? I knew it was last seasons when I ordered it but as I say I love the colour and am trying to be a bit more adventurous rather than my usual black and brown coats I wear.
