It's a Diamonique (cubic zirconium but very high end CZ) Tennis Bracelet set in silver (1.74ct weight equivilant).
I was sooooo tempted to buy it.

But it's got a tacky looking big silver lobster claw clasp!

Wwwwwwhhhhhhyyyyy.
A neater clasp would finish it so much better. It could pass as real diamond because of the size, so why cack it up with the fastener?

Is this it? I expect they have that fastener on it because it is a cheap option.

You could replace the clasp (or get a jeweller to do it for you as you need a special tiny pair of pliers). Most bead shops sell a selection of clasps.

Tis the one dexter73

I've got a Veronase bangle (silver plated with 14ct gold and 1 ct of diamonique) which has a secure discreet clasp with two 'figure of eight' fasteners. (though it cost more)>

It just looked really nice apart from the fastener Sad

Can I just point out that diamonuque is not 'high end cz'. It's just the name of their range.
Cz (cubic zirconia) is a man made gemstone so only really comes in one specification unlike diamonds which can have natural flaws.
Diamondique is just qvc's name for their range of CZ jewellery. If you have a google for CZ tennis bracelet you will most likely find what you're looking for.

It's also worth considering buying silver rather than plated as then it won't wear off and you can wear it forever.

LordOfTheFlies · 08/11/2011 19:59

I've had some cack quality CZ (some quite expensive for what it was) and the cutting of the stones is nothing like the Diamonique range.

CZ is CZ ie much of a muchness because its manmade but its the cutting and setting that makes the difference.

OP posts:
bethelbeth · 08/11/2011 23:10

The cutting doesn't affect the quality of the stone, just the look ifyswim.

It may be a tad pedantic, but if you see a brilliant cut cz or a baguette cut cz (ad nauseum) they are all standards cuts of gems.... but the gem will remain more or less the same. Preference of the cut is down to taste.

So if you know what you're looking for style-wise. If you have a google around you know you are not going to get an 'inferior CZ'.
