get thee to tk maxx! Loads of scarves like this for around £12

GiganticusBottomus · 07/11/2011 17:13

£130 Shock Sorry, not helpful but Shock

Sossiges · 07/11/2011 17:16

Gawd! Ebay?

suzikettles · 07/11/2011 17:19

Can you knit? Or do you have a mum/granny/aunt/friend who can knit?

It doesn't look like a very complicated pattern and it's chunky yarn so would knit up fairly quickly. The yarn won't be cheap but it'll be way less than £120 Shock

ColdSancerre · 07/11/2011 17:21

I was going to suggest getting someone to knit you one. My mum does this for me. That way you can choose a nice wool.

noddyholder · 07/11/2011 17:22

What is it you like? The cable effect or the colour and the fact its wool? Really like it much nicer than the Mn one

GiganticusBottomus · 07/11/2011 18:17

Gawd yes, MUCH classier nicer than the MN one.

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 07/11/2011 18:27

I reckon knitting that up in pure wool would probably cost £50-60, maybe more, it's a big old scarf.... Unless anyone knows anywhere to get cheap wool?

noddyholder · 07/11/2011 18:29

I agree that price is about normal for that quality. Lots of mixed wool and acrylic nice ones for about 50

accessorizequeen · 07/11/2011 18:37

Aren't they doing 20% on everything until Xmas? I'm sure I saw a code. Would be £104 then. But still £££! Or try Folksy perhaps?

BornToFolk · 07/11/2011 18:37

psst, Boulevard, look over here

madammecholet · 07/11/2011 18:52

seelyon I had the SAME dilemma, so I went off to Etsy on recommend from MN and had one knitted in cream from this lovely lady for 58 quid.

Its GORGEOUS!

Thanks, borntofolk, that is good value! have bookmarked site for future ref

theseventhdwarf · 08/11/2011 09:15

ohh word of warning
I got a fabulous joseph one a few years ago - it s great but super long and chunky but when I wear it it s so long that I m over wrapped, if I m not it s trailing on the ground, difficult to carry a handbag with as I usually have cross body bags and it gets in the way a lot, also it s always slipping off my shoulders
I love the look of it though despite the annoyance !

kateecass · 08/11/2011 09:47

I'm knitting myself something like that. The yarn (it aint wool!) cost me £12. But that wool someone else linked to looks like it might be making it's way to my house soon!

Eclairwaldorf · 08/11/2011 10:13

Gap had something similar last year, worth a look?

noddyholder · 08/11/2011 11:12

this is a bargain for cashmere but not cabled although it is fairly long so would look chunky wrapped round

Millie1 · 08/11/2011 11:20

Gosh, I was admiring that scarf last night but Shock at the price. Also thought you'd knit it for a fraction of the price and I fancy a knitting project! Can someone direct me to a website which is good for patterns and also knitting stuff though I think I can picture where my needles are!

BornToFolk · 08/11/2011 11:33

Millie, have you found Ravelry? It's a great resource for patterns (lots of free ones, but you can also buy pdfs on the site). There are loads of chunky scarves here

saoirse86 · 08/11/2011 11:42
