(and you'd just lost loads of weight, got down to the dreamy size ten you've wanted to be since you were twelve years old and you happened to have gigantic boobs.....ahem...)

What would you buy? And where from? Remember it's just one thing, because you're poor and this chance isn't going to come again for another god knows how long...lol...

ooooh, difficult... it'd be either a lovely dress that i would wear lots
OR, a fantastic flattering pair of jeans!

probably the jeans as would get tons of wear out of them
and maybe a few tops.
oh, and that dress

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 30/12/2005 17:14

Tight jeans would show off your figure best and can be combined with so many other things. But then, I live in jeans.

Which bit of your body do you like best? get something to show that off maybe?

Salsa · 30/12/2005 17:14

It depends if you have somewher to go. If you are planning on going out then a sexy dress that will show your new figure off. If its just for every day then a great fitting pair of jeans.

spacedonkey · 30/12/2005 17:14

I'd buy a really good pair of jeans I think

Or a great jacket

Or a fabulous pair of boots

fastasleep · 30/12/2005 17:15

Lol I was thinking jeans... and then I thought dress... and then I thought I've never had a dress that fits my boobs and where on earth would I find one...so I thought jeans again... and then I thought maybe a top that would fit my boobs for once... and then I gave up thinking!

Congratulations by the way

spacedonkey · 30/12/2005 17:15

I bet you'd look fantastic on a wrap dress

spacedonkey · 30/12/2005 17:16

or in a wrap dress even!

fastasleep · 30/12/2005 17:16

It's not all me though salsa it's the expressing milk... once I've stopped I'll have to live off rice cakes!

followthestarlover · 30/12/2005 17:16

do you have a budget?

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 30/12/2005 17:16

It is the sales now though so can't you afford two items if you shop really carefully?

fastasleep · 30/12/2005 17:16

Wrap dress... hmm... maybe I will go and buy a wrap dress... and then force DH to take me somewhere

OP posts:
fastasleep · 30/12/2005 17:18

I don't have a budget until DH has raided my benefits account after his paycheck.... which will realistically leave about 5p... but just this once I could buy something special and just think F it I think... we're not talking Monsoon prices though, more like H&M lol

there are bargains to be had in french connection - I saw a lovely dress (not wrap) for £25 in there today. But alas I am too porky to wear it.

puff · 30/12/2005 17:19

fastasleep - I've promised myself a "timeless" dress when I get to target - something I can dress up for evening and dress down for daytime. It will be my "I did it" dress .

Well done on your weightloss

fastasleep · 30/12/2005 17:20

puff where will I find that perfect 'I did it!' dress though?!

Argh so many choices!...Such stupid breasts!

OP posts:
puff · 30/12/2005 18:04

I'm hoping for a day on my own to shop til I drop , so dh can have the children one Saturday, hopefully some time soon!

I think you just need time to nose around the shops and try things on.

I have large norks too, so avoid anything with a high neck.

mazzystar · 30/12/2005 18:10

i would try to buy something really classic that won't date too quickly

fastasleep are you in liverpool? Open has some fab stuff and Drome in cavern walks. Silly money usually but their sales are really good. and EVERYTHING is half price in the new big monsoon....

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 30/12/2005 18:19

I would buy a great pair of jeans. I wouldn't get enough wear out of a dress.

expatinscotland · 30/12/2005 18:37

JEANS! I great pair of jeans.

DanceOfThePeachyPlumFairy · 30/12/2005 18:39

Ooh I almost ahd this a few months ago (size 12 but on my frame it would take a bacon slicer on the hop bones to go any smaller)....

first thing I bought... hmmm...

I got jeans first, and a nice velvet skirt that i wear anywhere from college to glam nights out.

I did also buy a second long velvet skirt, dress, shoes, corset (not exactly essential) and a nice flattering cardi to replace the nasty old baggy cover ups. My excuse is that the size 18 / 20's in my wardrobe fell down when I walked.

I'd deffo recommend Asda, i got the skirt, corset and some ridiculous shoes for £41... and they looked good!

Congrats, feels good doesn't it?

fastasleep · 30/12/2005 19:26

It does feel good, and everything does fall down when I walk!

Monsoon...sale... I don't need an excuse to go in there but I really shouldn't... probably won't get the money until after the damn sales knowing me! (I am in Liverpool and I've never been in that new Monsoon and I want toooo!)

Asda has been quite good in the past, I might try there again

An expensive great fitting pair of jeans.

LucyJones · 30/12/2005 19:27

wow excellent weightloss- any tips?!! I would go along with the new jeans too, they'll make you feel fab

fastasleep · 30/12/2005 19:30

Hmm I might be swaying in the jeans direction..

I put my weight loss down to three things -

#1 expressing enough milk to feed an army of children.
#2 walking 20 minutes to and from one group a week, then walking an hour back from a toddler group twice a week whilst DS naps in the pram.
#3 eating no chocolate (ok, a bit!) and absolutely no crisps...

That's about it really!
