Am looking for a warm cheapish work overcoat and have spotted these possibilities:
shop.uniqlo.com/uk/goods/070048 in black. anyone had a Uniqlo coat - is the quality OK?
www.marksandspencer.com/Wool-Blend-Single-Breasted-Cashmere/dp/B0058Q8X96?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_7&nodeId=1322523031&sr=1-7&qid=1320319705&pf_rd_r=120PWB2CCHJK66M177SG&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=1322523031&pf_rd_p=215570647&pf_rd_s=related-items-3 - but is there too much shoulderpad action there?

Or very grateful for any other suggestions from you wise style-and-beautiers!

Hopeful bump.

I prefer the M&S one, though as it doesn't fasten up to the neck you would need to wear a scarf to keep you properly warm on colder days.

The 1st one looks a little old fashioned, though I suppose it may look okay with knee high boots and a stylish handbag to make it look a bit younger.

blouseenthusiast · 03/11/2011 12:33

That's true, M & S one may be too low in neck. Worried shoulders may be huuuge. Thought first had bit of a retro look, but maybe it just looks elderly! Thanks...

Not bought one but prefer the M&S one

So, two votes for M & S, thanks. thinking quality likely to be better, am just slightly worried about shoulders having that Joan Collins feel.

I prefer the uniqlo one, it is cute and a bit retro. The styling of the buttons and pockets on the m&s one is a bit meh.

NhameCage · 03/11/2011 13:08

Also, uniqlo one is 100% wool.

blouseenthusiast · 03/11/2011 14:39

Thanks NhameCage, I prefer Uniqlo one for those reasons - just wondering what quality be like. Have had Uniqlo jeans which last forever, but not much else from there.

Don't know about quality as have never bought anything from Uniqulo but I do prefer it over the M&S one if that's helpful! Smile
