Tulisa's halloween make-up - how do I recreate this?!

Hey lovely ladies,
I want to try and copy Tulisa's make up from this weekend's X-Factor, not for a Halloween do, I just like it! But how?
Can someone with more make-up savvy than me give me some tips / instructions on how to make this happen - I'm talking the eye make up really:

Here's some pics (excuse the DailyMail link ugh...)

have you tried you tube? there is a lady on there called lauren i think who does loads of make up tutorials...

Ok. This is pretty much a smoky eye. Keep the darkest shade very close to lashes, use some black liner inside lash line on upper lashes. Use a good taupe shadow to blend. Looking straight ahead into a mirror, make sure your chosen colours don't go to far above the natural eye crease or it will look heavy/had a whack/drag queen! Lots of mascara & matte bone coloured colour under defined brow, definately stay away from any highlighter too bright or shimmery.
Good luck! Let me know if you need anymore help :)

I think Lauren Luke's make up looks heavy handed and really badly blended. Then again, she isn't actually a trained make up artist. Pixiwoo's Kim Kardashian video is a pretty good version of what you are looking for. Tulisa's eyeshadow colours are quite warm rather than taupe shades but you can adapt the colours to suit you. I'd say her eyeshadows are more your plummy browns, for example, MAC's Haux and Embark.

Pixiwoo's video here - - they also do a smokey eye tutorial which might be worth a look too.

Thanks so much everyone. I'm gonna get myself some colours and then settle down with a mirror and Youtube and give it a go! Bit scared, but much better equipped now, thanks! Grin

Also,a great cream shadow to use as a base is Nars Mykonos. Use a fine layer to give a little sheen through the shadow & extra staying power to the powder. The taupe I was suggesting would work to tone things down if you aren't used to much colour. Shu Uemura does some great shades. It's as much about brushes, blending & application as colour. Good luck (I'm a makeup artist by the way & love these threads as I'm on mat leave right now!)

This is a really good (and very cheap!) brush for blending. Despite the price it is superior to some of the higher priced equivalents (definitely better than the MAC 224 which is 4 times the price) and mine was still in fantastic condition when I sadly lost it after 16 years of constant use!

Goodness, I hadn't even thought about brushes! Thanks for the link ...kittens.

So what else do I need in the way of kit?

And brilliant detail thanks Icelolly! One of the reasons I'm not great with eyeshadow is that I always seem to get an ugly crease across my eyelid after an hour or so. Is that cause I'm wearing cheap products or am I doing something wrong?

creasing eyeshadow - you need primer. Urban Decay potion primer is the Holy Grail. It kept my eye makeup perfect for 15 hours, and I could have slept in it and it would still be perfect!
