What to wear: long haul flight

I need sth comfy, but vaguely stylish.
Will be flying 12 hours, leaving London in January, and arriving in Bangkok (hot hot hot). Pleasure not business. What to wear?

Just worry about comfort. No one looks stylish after 12 hours on a plane.

Leggings or yoga pants, a light jersey tunic and a cardi. Wear flip flops and take cosy socks. I wear a cami with intergral bra so its more comfy. Big pants and a panty liner (tmi).

That way you have nothing poking in or riding up and you can add and subtract layers - planes seem to be v hot these days.

Does it have to be stylish? I always wear the most comfiest, absolutely least stylish thing I can think of on a long-haul flight. Pack non-iron shift dress and ballet pumps in hand luggage and change in toilets while you're waiting for the rest of your luggage in Bangkok.

If you have to look good because you're flying with someone or something like that, then I'd wear quite thin loose trousers with nice vest and posh cardigan + pashmina for wrapping up in on the flight, and a short coat to wear in London and bung in your hand luggage on arrival. Maybe dye eyelashes to avoid panda mascara. I never put on make-up until in toilets at luggage collection, etc. Take cosy socks for flight. And comfortable headphones - the ones they give out free are rubbish.

joggers, trainers, t-shirt and a cardi or jumper. No need to be stylish. You are sitting on your arse for 12 hours. Comfort all the way.

No make up. Take a little moisturiser in your bag and drink plenty of water.

Yes, it will be hot but you will be in doors pretty much until you get to your hotel and air con can be ruthless!

Thanks... No, doesn't have to be stylish, am just trying to become more so!

Just wear something comfortable with layers, so that you can adjust depending if it is hot or cold on the plane. You probably won't have to wait long (if at all) for your baggage at the airport in Bangkok, so I wouldn't plan a change of outfit for at the airport. January is a great time to go to Thailand - dry season, hot but comfortable.

Also always go for comfort, not style. Long-term long-haul flier (Europe-South America or Europe-North America mostly). I always pack one extra change of clothes and underwear in a backpack (cabin luggage) - I remember a very sweaty 48hrs in Hong Kong when my luggage got lost and other equally painful times elsewhere when I didn't have backup.

Use heavy-duty moisturizer bf your flight. I love pashminas on flights although I never wear them otherwise.

You can be stylish with layers - watch what your most stylish co-passengers wear and do that on your return flight. My highest priority, however, is to sleep and relax on long flights. I always take along woolen socks, flipflops and plenty to read. Plus earplugs, eye masks and sometimes a neck pillow.

Sleeping and relaxing may well be off limits - travelling w 11mth old dd. Grin
Flip flops, warm socks and layers it is...

I did leggings, long stripy vest and boyfriend cardigan with a big scarf when I flew to Bangkok. Was still too hot when I got there though.
