Palest of pale foundation

I am a bit of a Casper the Friendly Ghost. I don't mind this but it's unbelievably hard to find a foundation that doesn't look orange on my near white skin. I also have quite oily skin so I need a foundation that's oil free. Please please if anyone has any suggestions, please tell me! Thanks x

Mac NW 15 is orange on me I am that pale Grin
Almay nearly naked in ivory works or Illamasqua in light foundation 135

Havingkittens · 26/10/2011 21:02

Illamasqua's palest foundation is white and the colours go up, gradually, from there. They also have each shade in yellow, pink and a balance of both tones. Their latest one, "Skin Base" is really great and the coverage is quite adjustable.

my friend is very pale and she loves the dainty doll range

Nars sheer matte or Chantecaille future skin

Thank you - loads of suggestions for me to try :-)

Try Suki tinted moisturiser - porcelain. People seem to love the colour without the thickness of foundation.

I also look like I've been eating chalk in the basement :o another vote for Lily Lolo mineral foundation here. There pale concealer is positively ghostly and I actually mix this with the lightest mineral foundation powder. I finish with the white matifying finishing powder which is very, very pale on the skin. I'm oily too and it's a nice matte finish but I do have to reapply the finishing powder to stay matte all day. Best thing I've tried in years!

Dainty Doll is supposed to be very good.

PerryCombover · 10/11/2011 20:45

chantecaille is excellent for pale ones and is generally excellent

Hi, you could try Eclat Opulent (By Terry). It's a one shade foundation that suits all skin tones. I love it. Makes your skin look like you're wearing no make up and just have fabulous skin! Available from Space NK.

I have spent months on the pale foundation hunt.

After loads of testers i can say that Bobbi Brown and Clarins offered the best match- I am currently using Clarins extra firming foundation but they do a long wear one which may suit oilier skin.

Lancome 010 is pale too but their foundations are heavily perfumed.

MummyAnnabella · 11/11/2011 00:18

Another massive vote for clinique suoerbalanced but in petal. I'm v pale and this also has pink undertones so not remotely orange. Have tried every foundation under sun over 20 years and this is only one I found for pale and oily skin.

lelainapierce · 11/11/2011 00:31

I think what different people consider fair is variable.

Like you op im currently wearing lancome 010 but now it's winter it's too dark for me so i have to go lighter. I also need something with pink not yellow undertones.

ameliagrey · 11/11/2011 08:56

mummyannabella I am really surprised that you think petal is pale- I tired a tester of clinique super.b. in Alabaster- the palest- and it was orange on my pale skin. I have used Clinique for 25 years but they have recently discontinued their pale shades- including Alabaster in their repair wear foundation.

OP- I don't think you will find anything paler than Bobbi Brown Alabaster- it is too pale for me- I'd need their Porcelain.

I am currently using Ivory in Clarins which is very pale.

Try Bare Minerals (also known as Bare Escentuals). Unlike creams or mousses, you can build this up for coverage as you go.

I use BE fairly light, MAC Nw 15 is too dark. I tried dainty doll in boots yetesterday and 002 looked good for me, and 001 was quite a bit lighter
