Cream dress, what colour accessories?

Hello,

I bought a floaty light cream dress(comes up above the knee, long sleeves), but have no idea what colour would be best accessory wise. (shoes, belt, bag and jewelry)

Would appreciate any tips or opinions. :)

Can we have a picture? I like red but I have also used white to offset cream (you had to be there) but a lot of colours can go with cream like dark graphite grey or cobalt blue.

It depends on the look your going for. I'm not keen on black but thats just me.

www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-MATERNITY-Swing-Dress-With-Pussybow/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1723637&cid=5813&Rf900=1465&sh=0&pge=1&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Cream

I was also thinking black would be too harsh, maybe brown but worried thats abit too safe.

I think brown would be a bit too wintery. (only my opionion though)

Pussybows were around in the 80's and red was in fashion then too so I'd go for red (patent?) Karen Millen are doing a lot of red shoes and bags at the moment. I would do simple red patent court, bag, simple makeup and red lips. And then only minimal jewellery eg wedding ring and ear studs to avoid looking overdone.

But if you went for a subtler colour eg cream shoes etc you could do sparkly earrings and diamante detailing on shoes and bag (if its a evening dress that is)
Congrats on being pg too!.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the Karen Millen web site. :)

ah cute dress, how about snakeskin?

TethHearseEnd · 22/10/2011 19:06

What's the occasion?

I'd wear it with thick wooly grey tights and brown shoes/ankle boots. But perhaps not for a wedding.

Crosshair · 22/10/2011 20:57

The occasion is my wedding.

Oh yes, I remember!

Can you do heels?

LesserOfTwoWeevils · 22/10/2011 21:06

Brown for shoes etc and and coral to brighten it?

Crosshair · 22/10/2011 21:07

I think around 3/4 inches I could manage, hate the idea of wearing flats as I dont want to be a short, frumpy whale beast!

you again! Grin

Have you got it? Do you like it?

Crosshair · 22/10/2011 21:13

I have it, it looks good with a belt under the bust. Without the belt it is the shapless mess that I was warned against. Wink

I've had a quick look around for cream dresses with accessories and grey seems a fairly common choice. There's some on the John Lewis website and the bridal section on Monsoon.

Crosshair · 22/10/2011 21:25

Cool, I'll go check them out.
