Non school shoes for boys

DS is 7 and has size 4 feet which are wide. He/i have never really been into wearing trainers with jeans. We're ok in summer, Clarks sandals plus canvas pumps seem to work.
But at this time of year I struggle to work out what to get him. Clarks have 1 pair non trainer/school shoes this year that look ok ish. Can anyone think f any other options? width fitted much preferred because his feet are v wide, next type shoes work out too skinny. He had kickers last winter but they never went soft and flexible and he doesn't want them again.
Any ideas gratefully received. TIA.
