IO cable knit cardigan - do I really need to hand wash?

it's too big to hand wash, surely I can stick it in the machine?

I put all of my hand wash items in the machine on the hand wash cycle ....if the machine didn't have that cycle it would go on at 30 degrees on a low spin cycle! these hands are made to program machines not hand wash!!!!
