foundation / tinted moisturiser for very pale skin

Where is the best foundation or tinted moisturiser for very pale skin? Most ones just leave me looking orange / yellow and sales people always err on the side of being too dark.

I have been using by terry tinted moisturiser, which is okay colour wise- but at £60, pretty pricey! Was thinking I would like something a bit heavier for winter, though not too heavy.

I also find that a lot of foundations / tinted moisturisers clump on my skin, so would have to be something light and non-clumpy!

I have not tried it myself but what about Nicola Roberts' (girls aloud) range Dainty Doll that you can find at Boots. Have you tried MAC?

Dermalogic tinted moisturiser is the best. Try and pop into a salon and get a sample.

I am very pale with pink tones.

I use Lancome Teinte Miracle in the palest shade (001). Dior Nude Skin in the palest shade is ok for me too.

I have also had success with Max Factor make-up being pale enough.

It is hard isn't it? So much foundation is very yellow toned.

As a whiter than white foundation whore, my suggestions are Diorskin Nude, Estée Lauder Doublewear Light ( in their lightest shades, not sure what the names are but I can look if you need me to ) and my current favourite, Make Up Forever HD - some fantastic pale shades and applies beautifully - not sure if it's sold anywhere else but mine is from Guru Makeup Emporium online. . (Oh and before all this I used to go for Japanese brands - Shiseido, Shu Umera and SKII as they always had excellent pale foundations )

Try Boots No7 tinted moisturiser. It cones 2 shades, I use the fairer one and I'm pretty pale. It's fabulous and reasonable price. Even better if you get it when boots gas their £5 off voucher. Defo worth a try.

Laura Mercier do some really pale shades of both foundation and tinted Moisturiser. Nars & Illamasqua both do nice pale shades too. Illamasqua's newest foundation starts at pure white and gradually goes up from there. They also do pink based, yellow based and neutral (a balanced mix of pink & yellow) tones of various shades so should pretty much cover all skin tones.

Oh, I had a try of the Dainty Doll stuff. It's terrible quality.

The Estee Lauder doublewear light was too yellow for me :(

Hi, thanks for the recommendations. I' ve tried Boots No7 but didn't like the way it seemed to clog on my face- also the colour was too yellow. Had similar experience with Max Factor.

Think I will try the Laura Mercier and the Lancome. Illamesqua sounds interesting- I've never heard of it. Do you know if Frasers do it?

Just marking to hear more advice. I am also a ridiculously pale, pinky shade and I have massive problems too. I had a girl on the makeup counter at Boots totally stumped trying to find me something from the no7 range that worked. Everything was either too yellow, or so devoid of colour that I actually looked white.

So, no, I don't think you are the palest person alive, Helo. I think I may be not far off.

I'm too pale for MAC. The only shades I've found to suit are Bobbi Brown Porcelain and NARS Siberia - though Laura Mercier and GOSH were pretty close.

i am very pale, with pinky undertones and this is fab
i wear porcelein, which is the second lightest shade

avoid chanel, although it's great stuff, as it's too yellowy for pinky-pales.

You can buy online though and because it's a new product they have sample tubes so you may be able to get them to send a couple of samples if you call the flagship store in London. It is a lovely foundation. It's a brand that's been developed by some very talented make up artists, who really understand what is needed from cosmetic products for optimum performance.

I use bobbi brown in sand (i use mac as well) its a good shade. I have slight pink undertones but bobbi says that yellow tones in a foundation work for everybody. I dont no if the pocelin colour has yellow undertones in it, i cant imagine it would. Its really weird because when i use the yellow toned moisturiser in mac i look yellow and sallow, yet it works with Bobbi brown

I am also pale as pale can be and swear by Estee Lauder doublewear in Shell.

I am convinced that I am the palest person here and the only foundation I've found that works is Avon.

Tinted moisturiser is easier, because it doesn't look awful if not a perfect match, you can get away with a shade darker, especially in summer.

Olay's Touch of Foundation tinted moisturiser works for me, doesn't make me look yellow (and is cheap).
