I had Keratin treatment two days ago and I really think it's worked

I'm amazed, I have to wait till tomorrow to wash it, they put they keratin in and then dry and straighten it into your hair which you then leave in for 72 hours.

It seems to be getting shinier and straighter by the day, or it could just be greasy. I will update tomorrow but supposedly I'll be able to wash it and not straightne it after, we will see..

I'm having my second one ever next week. Love the fact that I went 3 months without needing to blow dry or straighten my hair!

No downsides as far as I'm aware, it's meant to be quite natural and actually very good for hair. Mine was £79 but that was a groupon offer, I think it should be closer than £300, I think you an buy the treatment stuff on eBay etc and it really wouldn't be all that hard to do if you had a friend to help

So when they dry and straighten it, is your hair fixed in that style if you see what I mean?

I don't think so though they say not to tie it back or clip it until it's been washed the first time

Could I still do the sock bun and have curls with it? This is important

Is it the same thing as a Brazilian blow-dry then? Damn, missed that Groupon!

There's also some £30-40 homekits available, but I haven't tested them myself so have doubts about their effectiveness.

Well woman said that you can still do curls as it doesn't so much straighten but smooth and eliminate frizz, I'll tell ya tomorrow when it's washed. I think possibly it is the same as a brazillian, googling comes up with differing views.

That's impressive- it sounds like something I should look into.

The only thing you have to watch is the formaldehyde (sp?). Formaldehyde is now illegal in this country but is the main 'ingredient' in Brazillian blow dry/Keratin treatment, and salons are very much still using it. You can get Formaldehyde free ones, these are rare though. Hopefully they will start becoming standard though! I personally use the Keratin Complex system. It's formaldehyde free. There are a handful of salons that do this, a quick google will tell you your closest one.

Wow, it's amazing I've just washed and rough dried it and it looks so shiny glossy and swishy, it's miles better than I can get it with straighteners am so pleased

I've had several Brazilian blow dries. They're good, but not good enough to let me just wash and leave my hair unfortunately!!

I've just bought the home kit and will be giving it a go soon.
