Which bag do you think? Or should I save up and get the Mulberry I REALLY want?

Been a lurker on this thread for a while so thought I'd seek advice at last! I've got my eye on these two bags:

this one and

this one

I have some chocolate brown knee high boots and I've been looking for a bag to carry with them that goes without being too matchy - the other brown bags I have are tan or oak and they're a bit light. And I need to be able to use it for work as well as weekends.

I'd prefer a Bayswater/Somerset but I just cannot justify £800 (or £500) on a handbag to myself at the moment....... or maybe i can....what do you think? I get my return to work bonus in December so I could splurge a bit on myself after a year of splurging on the baby. Would it be worth it, Mulberry lovers?

I have both the bags originally posted (the Pippa in light grey). For what it's worth, like them both but think the Lucia has the edge in terms of quality. Also prefer its metal trim, as Pippa is quite 'gold' (see below).

Personally I don't get the Mulberry obsession at all. Don't find them any more attractive than bags priced in the £200 ish range like P and M, Modalu, Russell and Bromley, etc. In fact, find most of the designs very ordinary and positively dislike the amount of 'gold' metal on some of them (not a 'gold' person).

All quite lucky, as I'm extravagant enough in so many other ways. But good luck to everyone who does enjoy them, specially if they can get to an outlet which sounds great!

I got the Bayswater in Oak at the Cheshire Oaks Mulberry a couple of weeks ago - 1/3 off! Apparently the handles were a slightly different colour but I can't see any difference. They had got 15 in Oak the day before & that was the last one. I saw them selling the Chocolate one later that morning.

agree with polyhymnia... I'm also not sure where they are headed with the new 'fox head' lock?? vile tbh, I don't like the Alexa anyway as it just seems childish to me, but to then add a foxes head to the bag is completely bonkers.
