Help! ladies
I need some new trainers and outfit to wear to classes at my gym. All the other Mums look glam and seem to wear the perfect clothing.
Was thinking of leggings, vest top, trainers and a jacket of some sort to wear....HELP!
Any suggestions of where I can get some

I wear these or these on my bottom half. On my top half, I wear a Shock Absorber bra with one of these over it on a thin day or something more like this on a muffin top day. Occasionally I work out in the thin outfit when I'm actually having a fat day and need to be motivated by the sight of my muffin top, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you hate yourself/are a bit mental.

SachaF what trainers do you have? I am always trying to find good ones for aerobics!

RunAway have a look at this site: www.eveactivewear.co.uk/ lots of plus-size gym clothes! If you can see yourself looking sporty in the gym mirror, you will be more motivated to work hard while you're there. DO NOT "wait til January and ask for running gear for Xmas" - this is an excuse. If you start now, you'll be in much better shape by January!

By the way, ALL my Sweaty Betty stuff is from sales... also have some similar Nike stuff from TK Maxx.

RunAwayHome · 09/10/2011 18:09

thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I will try to give it a go now, would be nice to feel more in shape by January.

Evilgiraffe, where did you go for the shoes?

I have ordinary yoga leggings, just need to get some kind of t-shirt (maybe long sleeved for this weather, though I bet I get quite hot still!) and a sports bra. I had a shock absorber one, but it was from when I was smaller so not sure it still fits.

I have to do it in the middle of the day as I work early and late, which means I can't just do it before I have my shower in the morning, nor last thing at night, but have to look presentable both before and afterwards. but other people seem to manage to exercise in their breaks and shower/wash afterwards, so I should be able to as well.

Yes - lunchtime exercise is a bit of a rush but you just have to make the most of the time you have. If you can bear it, a cold shower afterwards will help cool you down and make your face less red before you get back to work! Good luck :)

This is where I got my running shoes. It's a bit hidden away and you feel like you're going into the back of beyond, but it is there!

My new shock absorber bra got tested today - works beautifully, but is noticeably warmer than my previous crappy bra and I found myself wishing I was running in the evening as per usual. Still, I'm sure I'll be grateful for the warmth as winter draws on!

www.lessbounce.com is fab for sports bras. I am a 36J and wear an Enell one - they don't technically go to my size but I can squeeze them into one of their compression bras and do serious jumping without much movement. It's like a torture instrument though - especially to get into!

I was looking at ALDIs and some of their running stuff that's coming in on Thurs that looks cheap and quite nice? But no idea if I'll look a prat at the gym in outdoor running stuff...

FabMum1 · 03/11/2011 20:06

Ladies, I now own a shock absorber sports bra plus a pair of black adidas 3/4 length leggings.

Still don't feel right, all the ladies are in colour co-ordinated nike with matching trainers.
I also need trainers for Body Attack and Body combat, running shoes are no good

Are these ladies in the matchy matchy outfits also sporting a full face of slap and perfect hair? There are usually a few like that in the gym. They tend not to work out, just sit about looking pretty and chatting.

Do your workouts, enjoy the endorphin feel good factor. I bet you look fab, you must be getting fitter now. You can build up a fancier gym wardrobe over time, look out for sales.

About the trainers, if you run seriously you probably shouldn't use your running trainers for other activity but I've always used the same ones for running and workouts. You can get aerobics trainers but I'm not sure they are really necessary.

FabMum1 · 03/11/2011 21:35

My running trainers are def not any good. Not that I can run, bought them with a plan to start running, never did lol. I can't run Sad

I teach bodyattack and combat and have these: www.sportsdirect.com/nike-free-xt-flexible-fit-ladies-273114
have not had any problems.

FabMum1 · 04/11/2011 11:47

Brill, thanks HazleNutt will pay Sports Direct a visit at the weekend. May also look in there at the gymwear Smile

you should, very reasonably priced.

try also those www.sportsdirect.com/nike-free-xt-flex-ladies-279026

and remember, your trainers have to be a bit bigger than your normal shoes, as your feet will swell up when exercising and they will otherwise be unfomfortable. I go at elast I size up, sometimes 2.

Now, if you really want to look posh for your combat and attack classes, you can get LesMills clothes

www.lesmillsclothing.com

or

www.lesmillsboutique.com

that will show them Wink

FabMum1 · 04/11/2011 13:46

Thanks HazleNutt love those trainers too. Didnt realise I needed to buy them slightly bigger.

I'm loving the Les Mills Shorts, may have to wait until my legs are a little more toned for those, lol. But they are lovely.
