Maternity Jeans - are they hard to find or is it just me?

Dear all

As I'm now 5 months gone, I'm bursting out of my trousers/jeans and have been looking for maternity jeans. I've bought a couple from Next that I really like in terms of the cut etc BUT every time I bend down/over, I end up showing the world my backside - not very practical. To be fair, the elasticated bit is meant to sit below the waist, but the other styles don't have anything to allow for belts anyway so I'm not sure I'd fare better with them.

So - are Next maternity jeans just not that great, or am I wearing the wrong type/size? Any brands you'd recommend, or thoughts on what I can do to rectify this problem??

I loved my Seraphine ones. In fact they were the best jeans I ever owned. Made my legs look longer, my bum better and were generally better than any I have ever found non-m wise.

How about trying maternity jeggings. I got an over the bump pair from www.globalmaternity.com and they are fab. They have 20% off at the moment as well which all helps. Smile

My best maternity jeans were from Egg, but is a NZ company, you can get it here in Singapore and I think maybe somewhere in England. They are over the bump ones and I still wear them (even tho not pregnant any more), really comfortable and flattering.

Sorry that doesn't really help does it !

I've just bought a pair of grey cord jeans from H&M, they are definitely much longer than other shops' maternity ranges so good if you are tall (I'm just under six foot) if not possibly still worth buying and taking them up! The fit is lovely, and although the jeans bit is very low cut they have a massive over the bump band attached - which is quite flattering especially round the back. Definitely no arse cleavage on show!

However unlike every other pair I've tried on where I've had to buy a size smaller than usual, the H&M ones I had to go
a size up - my usual pre-preg size didn't even get as far as my knees! Have to say I hardly ever find anything in H&M to fit me
usually though, their clothes seem very 'straight up and down' to me so if fit on waist miles too big on hips etc. But definitely worth looking at the Mama range.

All the jeans / leggings etc I saw there were over the bump.

I get on very well with Next under-the-bump jeans, I am very fatarsed hourglass - so maybe that makes a difference.

Conversely, over-the-bump fall off me.

Have you looked at Jojo Maman Bebe? I remember my friend despairing then finding a pair she liked there, £29 according to the catalogue I'm front of me
