Ok I want some 'lounge' trousers. I know them as PJ bottoms...

Apologies in advance, I shouldn't be allowed near this topic area... but I want to know where I can get decent, thick, soft lounge trousers/pants.

I had a pair from Boden but after many years they really need to retire.

Looked at Boden and someone in the review said they were thin material. Where else has such garments?

Fat Face - I have the snuggliest fleecy pair from them this year

Nevertooearlyforcake · 17/11/2011 22:05

I saw the nicest pair ever in Anthropologie, lovely material and gorgeous pattern. £39 I think so you could get cheaper elsewhere

CointreauVersial · 17/11/2011 23:16

I tend to go for black "yoga pants" - I had a pair from H&M for years, but the current pair are from TKMaxx.

They are cosy and comfy, but I can safely leave the house in them without looking like an escaped mental patient.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/11/2011 07:22

boo, so many of those places only go up to 30" inside leg

CakeandRoses · 18/11/2011 08:10

c'mon - someone please answer me! i can't start a whole sad new thread on 'when do you wear your lounge trews?' Hmm

do you only wear them when snuggling in the evening or if you're at home in the day too?

and really is there much difference between pretty PJ bottoms and lounge trousers?

LaurieFairyCake · 18/11/2011 08:15

The White company ones are smart enough to wear out shopping. The boden ones not so much as they are very like pj's.

LaurieFairyCake · 18/11/2011 08:16

Girlwithmousryhair - the em and em ones have an unfinished length.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/11/2011 08:19

cakeandroses I have them to put on the morning before showering as I don't wear anything in bed (furness-like husband!) but slob around the house in them and go out if I'm not seeing anyone I care about what I look like!

I have an amazing pregnancy pair which I'm living in at the moment, think the key is if they're wide legged and black they'l lok slightly smarter so you can wear them to go get a pint of milk or grab a coffee close to home!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/11/2011 08:19

thanks laurie

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/11/2011 08:20

oooh just been on website and white company has 20% off sleepwear etc til 23rd Nov

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 18/11/2011 08:23

bloody hell - ME&EM are lush but fricking expensive aren't they???

LaurieFairyCake · 18/11/2011 11:09

They are but they then get down to about 25 ish in the sale - I've had mine 3 years, still look brand new.

I have some of these, they're lovely.

natashakaplinkyplop · 18/11/2011 11:55

I've got a few pairs from sweaty betty, they're really soft and comfy. I got them in the sale, had them for about 3 years and they still look like new.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/11/2011 20:41

I really fancy some of the roll top ones from the White Company. I've got some M&S Autograph ones but they seemed to go babby on the knees v quickly.

The idea of wearing cashmere trousers makes me shiver, I'm afraid.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 18/11/2011 20:41

baggy not babby

talkingnonsense · 18/11/2011 21:33

Asda have lovely lovely fleece pj bottoms, really lovely for chilling in for about a fiver.

CointreauVersial · 18/11/2011 21:39

Cakeandroses - I work in an office and it is heaven when I get home to get out of my skirt and high shoes and sling on a comfy pair of trews. If I spent the day in jeans I probably wouldn't need them.

Millie1 · 18/11/2011 22:22

So, is 'loungewear' just another description of what I would call trackie/jogging/yoga bottoms? I went to visit a friend once and she answered the door wearing beautiful beige/toffee coloured loungewear - the luxurious, cashmere kind - bottoms, cami and v-neck ... all matching. I'd hate to think what it cost but I'd love to step into something like that in the evenings! As it is, if I don't have any taxi'ing to do, I change into black Nike trackie bottoms or black yoga bottoms. Something smarter would be nice Smile.

CointreauVersial · 18/11/2011 22:26

Yup, trackies or posh PJs is what I would classify lounge trousers as.

Just a new name for an old idea, really.

CakeandRoses · 21/11/2011 12:19

what do you all wear on your top half with them?

boden have some nice ones and 25% off at the mo but i still think they're just expensive PJ bottoms

CointreauVersial · 21/11/2011 23:51

Cami/cardi, long-sleeved teeshirt, or hoody. Whatever comes to hand.

startail · 22/11/2011 00:11

I have some Sainsbury's velour jogging bottoms and a hoody to match.
Very warm, very snugly and if you throw on your reapers you can just about get away with doing the school run.

startail · 22/11/2011 00:11

Trainers, sorry

NoHunIntended · 22/11/2011 00:16

Cakey, why, a lounge top, of course!
