So..I have one of these (given it by my mum) but not sure whether it is stylish or just looks dated and sad...

I've got a Dannimac, used to be my Mum's! I still wear it if I have to wear a suit out in the rain so about once a decade but that's not the coat's fault

Ooh I would love a Burberry trench. I suggest going on the Burberry site and other sites to see how you could style it up/modernise it according to your style. FWIW i would say that a Burberry trench or trench coat for that matter is a classic so keep it! They are so chic!

I have a Burberry Trench. I bought it from a local vintage shop for £40. I love it, it's a bit too long and needs taking up though.

I suppose as I am not ultra trendy (not fuddy or dowdy either) and not really thin, I worry I might just look like I'm wearing an old mac (see corns comment!) Do you have to be really slim and trendy to get away with it?
