Which veil do you use? I can't decide between the original, the tinted or the illuminating... suggestions?

whojimmyflip · 24/09/2011 19:17

Original. Otherwise you'll be shiny or orange!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/09/2011 19:23

I've just got the original veil.

mummy2munchkin · 24/09/2011 19:23

be careful with the powder, even though you tap it back in the pot it can get bloody everywhere. My cream carpet is now 'warmth' in places.

My pores are massive craters too and I found poressential by benefit totally evens them out before putting make-up on so you can't see them anymore and haven't had any breakouts from it.

HeavyHeidi · 24/09/2011 19:37

no it won't. or at least did not in my case - quite the opposite, made each and every pore of mine look like a massive crater. get a sample first.

neuroticmumof3 · 24/09/2011 19:42

i've been using it for years and think it's fabulous. if i want a bit of extra cover i use tinted moisturiser underneath. definitely try it from qvc, thereafter you can pick it up quite cheaply on ebay.

mummy2munchkin · 24/09/2011 19:47

really?? how strange...ok definitely get a tester first then!

Jezabelle · 24/09/2011 20:40

izzybizzy - am I being really thick? . . . have just trawled feel unique and can't find starter kit! Link please Smile
Great site though.

monkeysmama · 24/09/2011 20:42

I really like it. I switch between using By Terry in summer & Bare Minerals in winter. I always use it for nights out / weddings etc as once it's on, it stays on. Really does look just applied hours later. It's not a faff to apply though it does take slightly longer than a traditional liquid foundation. It's well worth the extra few minutes though. You have to get used to buffing it in - it looks more natural the more you buff. Mineral Veil sets the make up - it's a bit like a translucent powder. I've just got one of their lipsticks and it's brilliant. I recommend the eyeshadows too.

smartyparts · 24/09/2011 21:08

I don't like it. It makes me look all made up.

Maybe I am not swirling enough.

cyb · 24/09/2011 23:43

noddyholder · 24/09/2011 23:45

I have never got the hang of it always looks a bit grubby.

cyb · 24/09/2011 23:47

I certainly dont want to look grubby

I want to look glowing and non pored. But sounds like I will need a tester. Wonder if the counter in Bentalls will take pity on me and give me one tomorrow

I bought it but didn't get on with it, I looked GLITTERY in day light.

Slainte · 25/09/2011 10:31

Lookfantastic.com have starter kits for £12 with free P&P
HTH Smile

MooMinCow · 25/09/2011 11:47

there is a matte version now which is supposed to be better/less sparkly for oily skin/large pores. they do a primer too (never tried it though)

JustAnother · 25/09/2011 12:44

I thought the primer was good, but I didn't get on with the other products at all. I perservered for about 4 months and then I went back to liquid foundation. I have combination skin and 1/2 way through the morning, my face always felt terribly greasy.

cyb · 25/09/2011 14:08

Have bought tester kit. The gal cleaned my face (in busy store MORTIFICATION), put their oisturiser on (lovely) and primer (not a fan of that sillicone feeling on my skin)

Swooshed fairly light all over after using their concealer (but I think I will stick with my concealer as I need uber shadow coverage)

I looked a bit wan (no lippy no blusher) so she bunged some warmth on which made a difference

So I bought the kit PLUs one of their Buxom lip colours in 'Vanessa' arf

Will let you know if swoosh tap tap tap gets on my wick first thing in the morning......
