Having botox tomorrow for the first time...... Questions for those of you that know?

Having the deep furrow between the eyes, probably the lines on my forehead and maybe the crows feet.

Not 100% if I want the crows feet done though.

How much does it hurt?

Does it make the wrinkles look worse if you stop having it done?

Does it bruise the skin?

Can I get away with not telling dh or will it be obvious?

Can i have a higher dose in the furrow (its bad!!) and a lighter dose on other areas?

I also have a line-free forehead from my mother ,but the benefits of that are neglible because I look scarily shit without a fringe anyway.

bigkidsdidit · 24/09/2011 17:07

I really want it done. Anyone recommend a good place in London?

magnolia74 · 24/09/2011 17:08

I can't wait to sweep my fringe to the side Grin

Yep no make up and I will be 46 in November! It is so good for certain faces! Sun damage and premature ageing not as effective as dynamic lines which I had caused by squinting without glasses. My mum is line free lucky woman and I have been lucky but my forehead was v bad

magnolia74 · 24/09/2011 17:41

noddy, mines the same....never wore my glasses and spent years suinting. Now have contact lenses and botox Grin

noddyholder · 24/09/2011 17:44

It is great for that. My friend wanted it and the same doctor said her damage from the sun was not suitable

talkingnonsense · 24/09/2011 18:02

Anyone used anywhere in Kent/ the Kent side of london? Am soooo tempted!

pinkteddy · 24/09/2011 18:22

Has anyone had it done on their cleavage/neckline area? My face is pretty unlined but my neckline is really bad (sun damaged), I hate it.

smartyparts · 24/09/2011 21:13

I always read the Botox threads with envy.

Someone recommend somewhere in Herts, please! I look permanently cross and would love my number 11s to go!

TracyK · 25/09/2011 10:19

My doc said to not do botox fillers for neck/chest as a 1st option. Thermage laser treatment first for those areas and then will prob find botox/fillers not needed (but could top up if required). And get 5 years results from lasers rather than 4 months of botox.
I'm going to go back for my 2nd round of botox - had it done end of May - loved it. It completely took away my no 11's and lifted my slightly sagging eyelids in a nice natural way. Will ask for a teensy bit in crows feet this time - more from a preventative way - so that they won't get any worse.

pinkteddy · 28/09/2011 21:01

Thanks TraceyK, I'll look into that. Any idea what sort of money it would cost?

TheBolter · 28/09/2011 21:16

I had my no 11s done in early July, and like you was deliberating over my crow's feet so waited a month to see how I felt about having the no 11's done. Looking back, it was my crows that needed doing most as the results have been pretty amazing and more noticeable in that area.

I'm going back to get my glabella done next month as the effect is wearing off but I'm hoping I won't have to have it done for longer next time. My crow's feet will need doing before Xmas I expect.

I look about five years younger and many, many people have commented on how radiant I'm looking. Compliments I always take gracefully while at the same time attempting to appear surprised. He he.

My dh hasn't noticed, and I do feel weird not telling him, but then I'm not lying to him - I'd be honest if he asked, but so far, he hasn't.

The beauty of botox is that it takes up to ten days to kick in and it wears off gradually, so the whole secret thing is quite easy to pull off.

magnolia74 · 28/09/2011 23:06

Well its day 5 and its working but still have a frown!! Does it go completely?

PersonalJesus · 29/09/2011 00:22

Have you got a top up appointment booked? My middle forehead took a good 7/8 days, and my number '1' needed over 10 days. My frowny furrows were very deep.

The top up appointment just gave them an extra wee tweak, but I was happy really. I haven't got a totally smooth forehead will probably go for a bit more next time but I didn't want to go full on for my first go. The main reason being I didn't want my family and friends lecturing me. It would have taken all the joy out of it.

Sorry, I'm rambling. You may need a few more days to get the full effect, are you happy so far?

AmberLeaf · 29/09/2011 00:58

Do the lines actually disappear or are they just less pronounced?

TheBolter · 30/09/2011 10:23

Amber, it depends on the extent of the lines. My frownies were quite fierce furrows when I frowned, and while resting, they just looked like fine lines. I asked if I could have enough toxin (shudder) injected to obliterate the lines while resting. While the stuff was at its best, the lines completely disappeared by about day ten and I found it difficult, almost impossible to frown.

Nearly three months later, I can frown again but the muscles are weak there so I can't frown for long or as 'well' as before. The lines are faintly visible.

TheBolter · 30/09/2011 10:27

My crow's feet have all but disappeared apart from under the eyes where there is still a bit of wrinklage, and one line now as opposed to millions several.

It sounds a bit odd but I haven't noticed anyone look at me strangely!

The best thing I find about botox is that as a light sleeper I used to look permanently knackered, and was always chasing sleep. Now it doesn't seem to matter so much as I look pretty much the same most mornings!

kitya · 30/09/2011 10:36

anyone know anywhere reasonable and good in London?

AmberLeaf · 30/09/2011 10:53

Thanks TheBolter.

Ive just got feint 11s and a few horizontal ones across my forehead, really not that bad so it would probably work quite well for me. Not that im definitely going to have it done! After reading this thread im thinking about it though as its not quite as expensive as Id thought.

TheBolter · 30/09/2011 10:54

I have forehead lines Amber - and I'm sure they were more prominent before having the no 11s done. The dentist did say that having the no 11s done might help those lines too!

AmberLeaf · 30/09/2011 11:46

Ooh so just having the 11s done may sort out the forehead ones too? even better!

I too would be interested in London recommendations.

magnolia74 · 01/10/2011 20:09

Day 7 and can still feel it working, maybe im too impatient? I have a follow up next friday.
I still have feint number 1 and i notice the difference but dh hasnt Grin
