Dress to get married in (but not a wedding dress)

We're getting married in March but with our sticky 18 month old son in attendance I don't think white is the way to go... Can anyone recommend a starting point for shopping in London please? I know I could roam the department stores but I was thinking of somewhere more like a boutique/independent shop or dressmaker. I really like the look of Decades vintage bridal shop but it's too expensive for me - budget under £500, which is surely enough for a nice frock!
Any suggestions very welcome.

A couple of lovely shops in London for vintage wedding gowns

www.furcoatnoknickers.co.uk/ (good name!) in Kingly Court, just off Carnaby St.

I can't seem to find a website for the other one but it's around Angel (turn left out of the tube station on the same side of the road) and it's called My Sugarland.

I like the dresses tethersend has linked to but some of the vintage ones are hideous and you will look like an extra from a village am-dram production in them. As for the 50s style ones...
