Uggs - wear with socks or not?

DD insists they are meant to be worn without socks. I think they'd quickly get unbearably smelly.

What's the norm? And if sockless is the answer, how do you deal with the 'stink' factor?

I wear mine with socks as well. They just don't feel right without them.

As long as they are real sheepskin then no socks, and they won't smell because it is a natural fibre.

I've just succumbed to a pair of kiwi sheepskin ones and second the no socks/basket of warm kittens approach. Awesome.

I had a terrible experience once. A friend of mine came over for coffee. She had Uggs and jeans on. I had Uggs and jeans on. I took off my Uggs, she cries out 'Oh! You wear socks! You shouldn't...it's natural fibres.' She then proceeds to take off her Uggs, no socks. I am not kidding, I almost DIED from the stench.

You may not smell it yourself ladies, but unless my friend has some kind of exceptionally smelly feet, no socks do make them smell.

not meant to be work with socks. however it is a pain if you wear them to somebody's house and (as I usually do) forget to take a pair to put on in their house!
mine have never smelt - I don't suffer particularly from this anyway even in summer but I do wash my boots regularly.

ladyasriel - how do you wash your uggs? Simply put them in the machine and airdry?

So - all of you non-sock ugg-wearers......do you wash your uggs, and if so, how?

No socks...one pair of mine started to wiff a bit after three years but not had any problems before that!!

I wear mine without. My feet smell like flowers.

However, my first Uggs were black, and the colour POURED out of the fleece, giving me grey corpse feet.

Definitely socks - oddly, I find my feet get too hot if I go without.

Plus the smelling thing.
