DD needs her hair in a bun; any ideas how I can do that?

Before you start helpful technical stuff; have a look at my profile....not the attractive red sofa (it was my mums) but the photos of DD

Her hair is about 6 inches longer & a lot bigger now; it has to be a bun not a high pony or a plait

Any thoughts?

I use the double bobble method myself on my thick wavy just past shoulders hair, i just twist the ponytail round on itself and secure with a second bobble.

I used to have crocheted bun nets (made by my mum, but looks like theres plenty on ebay), so that should stand up better. The fine pins are pants btw - you really need the thick ones

have you tried the sock bun? lots of instructions on ebay, but it is quick, cheap and neat

Have you considered shaving all her hair off and buying a ready bunned wig?

There is a gadget called a EZ Bun which is basically a flat tube of fabric with a wire loop inside. you poke the hair through a slit in the fabric, pull the
EZ bun up to your head then down a bit and sort of roll all the hair up before twisting the EZ bun round the outside. You can, I believe, make your own too if you google. I've had a version in the past (Boots maybe?) and they are very robust.

Nope double bobble, thick net & pins - I am decided (although the wig is tempting)

Try these - they work a treat on big curly hair

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4X-Form-Hair-Sponge-Clip-Foam-Tool-Bun-Maker-Twist-/120771798013?pt=UK_Jewellery_Watches_CostumeJewellery_CA&hash=item1c1e8f63fd

They are very strong as the inside bit is wire.

It worked

I did a pony tail split it & folded it over a sausage thingie used a full size heavy duty net folded over 3 times and half a dozen pokey pins

Sorted!!
