Do thick black leggings that have some kind of tummy support exist?

And if so where can I get some

Have bought quite a few longish tops for winter and thought I was going to look tres stylish wearing them over leggings. Instead I just look lumpy (a result of having DS3 3 months ago.)

I kid you not but Avon do them. Don't tell anyone I told you.Blush

Ambernj1 · 13/09/2011 13:03

Seraphine do a 'tummy tuck' legging for postnatal ladies - haven't tried them yet but intend to (DC2 is 9 weeks)

loueytb3 · 13/09/2011 16:58

Avon?? Would never have thought of that.

Will look at the seraphine one - but my only worry with them is that they tend to come up small.

Primark do them, quite cheap too. I vaguely remember seeing them in New Look too but don't hold me to that!

TracyK · 13/09/2011 17:05

I like the look of the Seraphine ones too - but M/L looks like a 14. Too small. And Avon doesn't sell them anymore by the looks of things.

I know spanx do high waisted opaques which I wear instead of leggings - but would like the option of leggings too.

borntoberiled · 13/09/2011 18:11

I wanted some last year but instead got some properly skinny black jeans with stretch which u like. Think mine were from DP

Honeydragon · 13/09/2011 18:18

The Avon ones are very smoothing in the tummy area, but they are a sort of crepey tight material but thicker, than a classic cotton legging .... thought you ought to know as you can't tell in the brochure picture.

But they are rather good.

Poodlehorse · 13/09/2011 18:35

Costco do and I keep getting told I have lost weight when I wear them - but I have actually put on. Less than £20 from memory.

TracyK · 13/09/2011 19:59

Can you do a link Honeydragon for the avon ones - I can't find them.

CountBapula · 13/09/2011 20:04

The Seraphine ones re-align your organs apparently Confused

"Whilst these leggings help to smooth silhouette giving you the look of a sleek and leaner figure they also gently re-align the uterus and organs helping you to regain your pre-pregnancy figure in no time."

oldraver · 13/09/2011 23:03

I saw them in what I think was an independant cheap fashion shop so the chains must have them

loueytb3 · 14/09/2011 10:42

Can they realign my stomach so I don't look 5 months pregnant

oldraver can you remember where you saw them? I think the M/L may be a bit snug for me. Am a large 14 at the mo.

borntoberiled I guess that's a possibility but they aren't as comfy as leggings. I did wonder about jeggings.

I did buy some control leggings from next but they were more like thick opaques and kept falling down Hmm

Lisse leggings. They are an American brand you can buy online ar John Lewis. They are about 40 quid but worth it - quite high-waisted but hold you in firmly. You won't see dimples or anything, just don't tumble dry them. The middle bit (my problem area) is quite tight. I am 5"8 and wear the large eventhough I'm not that big, I am squarish though ( 30 inch waist). Size up for comfort.

chocolaterainbow · 15/09/2011 01:21

Oooh, I'm watching this... I'd never imagined such a magical thing might exist, I alwas feel frumpy because of my baggy belly!

loueytb3 · 15/09/2011 10:15

DameDoon they sound really good, would rather pay a bit more and get some decent ones...off to have a look on the JL website.

OP posts:
TracyK · 15/09/2011 11:32

Do the Lisse from JL come up high in the waist - the photo doesn't look like it does.
Looking on the US Lisse website - they have a high waist version - but no international shipping grr.

loueytb3 · 15/09/2011 12:58

I have ordered some Tracy, if I get a chance I may pick them up tomorrow, but if not on Monday so will let you know.

Thanks Louey.
I've been searching for yummie tummy leggings - I can see them on USA websites - again - need to find an international shipper. I think maybe Amazon.com might ship to UK?

CountBapula · 15/09/2011 16:18

I just got some in Peacocks for £7 but am returning them. They're sooooo tight on the leg Shock but it's not my legs that are the problem ...

TracyK · 15/09/2011 16:58

I've just ordered some flexees leggings off asos.com. They are cropped - but I will be wearing them with boots anyway. HAPPYLFW gives 25% off.
You can see the reviews of the leggings on figleaves - all positive I think.

Honeydragon · 15/09/2011 18:30

The Avon leggings are called body Illusion they are running them in campaign 15 which wont be available till next week online

if this link to the ebrochure works they are on page 202

Honeydragon · 15/09/2011 18:31

they are only showing the leopard print the plain black is listed below at £15

ElectricSoftParade · 15/09/2011 18:46

The Avon ones are good but do have a sheen, so not like cotton leggings. I am going to have another pair and quite fancy the patterny ones.

I was in Primark and picked up a pair of tummy control leggings along with a vest top which is long and is made of the same material (cottony). They are in the underwear section. Combined they are brilliant but without the longish vest the leggings rolled down a bit. Leggings were £6 and the vest £5.

loueytb3 · 20/09/2011 11:02

I can report back that the Lisse ones do indeed have a high waist. And they are nice and thick and do smooth out the lumps. I still have a tummy but it is more of a curve now. I might try and see if I can find them cheaper though.
