Fisharefriendsnotfood · 12/09/2011 20:41

have never been shopping in city centre before. I have already shopped the entire Trafford centre o no avail so am looking for more boutique independent shops. Please point me in the right direction Smile

I recently had a big do to attend where an ex would be present. Am also similar build to you - 5'8, great legs and waist, medium (DD) boobs. I wore a Vivienne Westood Anglomania dress in fuscia here. It's very sexy on and I got complimens all night.

I wore gold stilettos, dangly gold earrings and a black and gold Moschino clutch.

MatLeaveForever · 13/09/2011 08:01

How about Flannels - I think the WAGs go there but not been myself. It's next to Russel & Bromley.

KristinaM · 13/09/2011 08:23

Another vote for VW anglomania. V sexy but classy

Good legs are a great asset. You can fix tummy with spanx and wear padded bra if necessary

cleanteeth · 13/09/2011 09:00

How about this, not very colourful but nothing like a big split up your thigh to make people look!

or this

this also in blue

coast have some lovely dresses in that you could easily dress up with amazing shoes and jewellry.

or you could try having a look on here

Also have a look on google for boutiques in manchester or where ever you decide to go shopping for some advice, there's a few websites where people have given reviews and directions for little boutiques dotted around.

Ifancyashandy · 13/09/2011 09:11

Those Halston dresses are lovely.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 13/09/2011 16:06

Thanks everyone. Ive bottle a bottle chilling and an evening with dh to do some research Grin

OP posts:
Fisharefriendsnotfood · 13/09/2011 16:14

Without dh that is

fannybanjo · 13/09/2011 16:19

Was thinking your DH was sounding a teeny bit camp...!! Wink

I love the Halston and VW ones. If you had the money you could order a couple and send back what you didn't like?

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 13/09/2011 16:30

The halson ones def won't work. The peach neckline won't flatter my chest and the straight line across tummy on purple one won't sit right. But thanks Smile

Try shopbop.com - it's kind of like a Net-Porter but American and prices are great, they ship over here free too.

fannybanjo · 13/09/2011 16:39

Plus you can return.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 13/09/2011 16:41

Or do my usual trick of keeping them all Wink

OP posts:
SickOnMyShoulder · 13/09/2011 18:56

i would head to l k bennett, they have some lovely dresses designed to flatter

KaraToytown · 13/09/2011 19:56

I second Anglomania. It has that kind of insouciant attitude but is still stylish.

fannybanjo · 13/09/2011 21:15

Soooooo have you found anything you like?!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 13/09/2011 21:28

I do like the look of anglomania, will need to track on down to try on. That was a great American site fanny

Still nothing really grabbing me though. Lots I love but won't work cause of my figure, my wallet or the occasion Grin

Hitting the shops next Wednesday and am ot cominghome till I am sorted so please keep any suggestions coming

You'll find VWA in Selfridges or Harvey Nicks (so Leeds / Liverpool?).

MatLeaveForever · 13/09/2011 22:06

We have Selfridges and Harvey Nicks in Manchester too :o (not that I can afford to shop there)

Ifancyashandy · 13/09/2011 23:52

I couldn't remember! Thanks for pointing it out!

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 21/09/2011 21:12

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 22/09/2011 16:26

MrsMilton · 22/09/2011 16:38

That dress is lovely, how is it on the tummy and upper arms? Could do with something similar myself. On model it looks very flattering, and covers the very top of the arm at the back, is that the case?

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 22/09/2011 17:42

Yes. I have an all in one fat sucker in thingy that I wore under it and it just smoothed out the bumpy bits. I'll be able eat dinner and relax. You can adjust the bust to show more/little and the straps can be as off shoulder or on as you like. It is very sexy curvy though, I love it! And was way way under budget Grin

Dress, shoes and bag all gorgeous (I love that bag). I bet you'll look fab, have a great night.
