Damn I thought I'd solved it but I was wrong

I really, really thought that I had found THE hand cream, when I bought Aveda's hand relief a while back.

However, whilst my hands aren't dry, they do look like the hands of a very old lady because they are so thin and the veins stand up and my knuckles are all saggy and horrible.

Please help me! Is there such a thing as a handcream with added collagen for serious 'plumping action' or anything like that?

I am only 41 but I have Madonna's hands and I don't want them!

Don't think it has collagen in it but I have seriously dry craggy hands and have recently started using Soap & Glory Hand Food and it has made a massive difference. Also have seen Body Shop Hemp handcream recommended a lot on here.

Thank you. Don't like the Body Shop one but will look into the S&G one. Does it have that horrible sickly sweet smell though?

For me I find it makes a difference the amount I put it on. I have handcream everywhere - kitchen sink, bathroom, sitting room, by the bed... Drink lots of water too. I do like the dove handcream and I used to swear by Barielle, do they still make that?

Penhaligons Querus hand and nail lotion works miracles on my raggedy hands - when I remember to use it.

Don't know where to buy it though as it was a gift.

Thanks Marmite. Never heard of Barielle. I don't like Dove (another one with a sickly sweet smell).

I have got Garnier Hydralock on my desk at home and my desk at work and E=Aveda in my bag and apply as often as I remember (at least four times a day) but still have vile old lady hands. :( I MUST drink more water though; you are absolutely right.

E=Aveda? I bet Einstein didn't know THAT theory! :)

Tethers, I have always found the name of that hugely amusing and once embarrassed myself by laughing loudly at it in an Aveda store in the US.

In response to the original question, I suggest Kiehls Ultimate strength hand salve. I get the worst dry skin on my hands and this is the only thing that works for me.

Aha - Kiehls is one I haven't tried. Neutrogena good but too sticky for me.
