wide calf boots-I think I need wider than Duo?!!!!!!!

I know I have got wide calfs-they measure 51ish cm's at widests point. Duo only go up to 50cm so do I stand a chance? And surely other people have wider calves than me??????? Does anyone know anywhere else to look? Marisota do ultra etra wide at 46cm- feel very dissapointed as really want boots!

I have a pair from Duo, I measured my calf size a few times to make sure it was right but when they came they were too big, so you probably will be fine with a slightly smaller size

Get the slightly smaller size. Or go in and try them on if you are near one of their fitting shops. I sized down a centimetre or two and they fit very well.

Thanks both!2 and half hours away from nearest store so not going to visit. When I satand up my calf is 48cm so think I am going to buy some and return them if my calves are too fat

They defo come up big. In my case I could've ordered 2 - 3 centimetres less than what I reckoned my measurement was, and if I'd checked the reviews of the boot beforehand, I would've read that on there from other reviewers.

Gabor boots might be worth a look as well, I noticed today that they do wide fittings. I love their tactful descriptions of big calves - ranging from 'the athletic calf' through to 'more sturdy lower legs'

Haven't ever tried them but having 'sturdy lower legs' myself I'm hoping to one day...

I have a few pairs of duo boots and disagree about them coming up small, I think it's more about the length of the boot and where they sit on your leg. I have longer ones in a 35 leg and shorter ones in a 34 because they don't come as high as the biggest part of my leg iyswim

yes id say its more about the shape of the boot. if designed to be slightly looser fitting or to accomadte skinny jeans etc then the size appears to be on the larger side, but if a more formal and closer fitting boot then they will be true to size perhaps verging on small.

Defintely go to Evans and have a look. Their calf sizes are very generous.
But their shoe sizes are wide and you may find you need to drop a half size or two (or use an insole) to get the fit.

At least you can have a good trying on session in the shop.

Some of the Gabor boots have an adjustable calf, a buckle near the top with a flap of material so they really are very flexible and fit a range of widths happily. Very soft leather too.

Thanks for all info but they are all too small for my big fat tree trunk calves. Duo is the only one but read now that returns are at customers on fee. So going to have to convince dh that we need an overnight stay in Bath. . . and then-what a suprise!There is a Duo shop!I looked at some Boots on there website.Would you mind if I just pop on and have a look . . . . . ?

I wouldn't risk Duo. I ordered some, measured carefully as per instructions - they came this morning and the shoe part of the boot is so incredibly small I would have had to size up from a 6 to about an 8 to be comfortable. And while the calf fitted, the ankle was so narrow I could only do the zip up over that part with great difficulty - the boots rubbed and wrinkled horribly at that point. Why they should assume that someone with a 47cm calf should have a slim and dainty leg other than at the calf I do not know. I resent paying for the returns and I won't be trying Duo again.
