Talk me out of buying these boots

They're ridiculous, impractical and I will break my ankle. But....oooh.... pretty

I really hate those boots - they look like some sort of hooker-orthopaedic hybrid to me. Try to imagine what you will look like wearing them in a year or two's time, as the price (to me) is definitely more investment buy than flash in the pan bit of fun. I'm going to guess that in 12 months these will look (even more) horrendous - and then you won't even be able to get rid of them on ebay.

If you really want them, can't you find something a bit similar at a lower price? Although in my experience seeing the same items at a lower price (eg in a sale, or at Poundland) is somehow an excellent way to realise how ugly they are! Someone ought to create software that does this automatically when shopping online...
