What colour do you wear with a black top?

I've just been given a balck top I really like but I have no idea what to wear it with. It's a batwing, long-sleeve affair. I was thinking of wearing it with THE Mumsnet/ebay scarf but what else.

It has to be trousers and I mainly wear jeans.
Grey jeans? ANd if so, what colour boots?

I wear black tops with green cowboy boots and black boots I have but not brown ones for some reason.

yep jeans too, or grey trousers. Also would wear brown boots with the jeans or black boots/sandals with the grey trousers
