I need some inspiration ladies, I am mid thirties, a SAHM and I want to change my look, am sick of just always wearing jeans and fleeces. At the moment I seem to be stuck in Crew tops and jeans.

What are your favourite brands, I need to start shopping somewhere else. I need easily wearable things but want to be slightly more feminine some days! I've been to Boden, some nice things, joules - too horsey, isabelle oliver - v.nice. Any others I am missing?!

many thanks

I'm loving All Saints at the moment. It's not all that cheap but you can pick up some great bargains in their sales or on ebay. Their stuff is quite unusual and vintage looking.

Great Plains has been a favourite for a few years, very wearable not over the top etc. Kew159 has a few nice things too as do Mint Velvet. I also like a rummage in a big branch of M&S at their Limited Collection and occasionally Autograph stuff too. I get the odd thing in Oasis/Warehouse/Dorothy Perkins, quality variable in DP but nice for dressier stuff that will go out of fashion soon.

Whistles does some lovely stuff- esp silk tops. I ignore the dry clean only labels and just cool hand wash them. But they jazz up jeans brilliantly. Reiss also good for tops that make an outfit look stylish. New look can have some cheap tops that can be nice but the quality can vary hugely. But i just picked up some nice tops(yes all my trousers are jeans so i just vary between skinny, bootcut and flares in varying colours) in Oasis- and they are machine wash. A lovely green and blue colour (Long Sleeve Peter Pan Blouse- would link it if i knew how) Will look good with a cropped cardi when its cold. Happy shopping!

I agree with Reiss and Whistles, both very good quality.

I also like The White Company for smart basics.

Cheaper end, Zara is always good and great value. I find you can update your outfits with a couple of purchases from there for not too much money.

French Connection is another good one to have a look out for.

Monsoon Fusion range and Hobbs NW3 range are nicely different, and not too young and trendy.
