this one

If you read this - thanks! I love it and judging by the comments I have had when wearing it, so do others!

I have ordered the pink one they do too and although not as nice I still really like it. You've saved me a fortune from buying elsewhere!

Thanks

Ok, have some credit in paypal acc so convinced self is ok to join you lot and buy The Scarf.

Only q is: grey or brown?

Have medium to light toned skin - a bit olivey toned crossed with welsh colouring (confusing yes). Blue eyes, v dark brown hair. Some freckles.

Can't decide but don't wanna get both just yet. Drawn to grey but would the brown be better for my colouring? Does brown go with that much other stuff? I wear quite a lot of blacks, greys, bright colours, but do have a fair mix across all colours.

PrimaBallerina · 06/09/2011 12:35

My brown one has just arrived. Very nice but definitely cotton rather than the promised silk and cashmere. Didn't actually expect cashmere for a tenner so no biggie.

Ok, ignore my pathetic indecision, went for grey as will go with most of my stuff Grin

Like the purple too - if good might be tempted...OOh I loves a good scarf.

ellmum · 06/09/2011 13:11

If anyone is thinking about the purple one, you won't regret it! Mine arrived today and it is lovely. Thinking about getting the grey one now....

bemybebe · 06/09/2011 13:14

Ok, I've just got The Scarf and it is DEFINITELY NOT 70% Cashmere & 30% Silk. It has a manmade blend of some variety, I do not how much the man made element is. I would not be surprised if it is 100%.

This is a typical case of ebay "item not as described". I have contacted the seller, waiting for their reply.

I would not buy if you are hoping for Material:70% Cashmere & 30% Silk

Liars.

bemybebe · 06/09/2011 13:23

There are very simple ways to determine if the fabric is natural (silk or cashmere) or artificial. There are plenty of web resources to explain how to carry out and interpret those tests.

madammecholet · 06/09/2011 13:43

tis very soft though, but I agree def not cashmere.

Now then ladies, seeing as I've got you into animal print, how do you like faux fur. I bought this last year, and its been GORGEOUS, not everyone's cuppa, but its a snood and goes over most of my winter coats...

asos fur snood

tis ver ver ver gorgeous......

VivaLeBeaver · 06/09/2011 13:53

I think I've got a bit carried away by the scarf and bought this;

coat

Obviously I can't wear the scarf with it as I think that would be overkill but it looks lovely on.

VivaLeBeaver · 06/09/2011 13:53

Someone tell me I'm not going to look like Bet Lynch in that coat! Shock

bemybebe · 06/09/2011 13:54

for those who would like to know what they are buying Wink www.lindrix.com/fabcontent.html

rubyrubyruby why would ebay pull the listing? the seller should just NOT lie shamelessly that this is a luxury fabric, but acrylic or whatever shit it is made of. maybe adjust the price to reflect the value accordingly

fergoose · 06/09/2011 14:04

Well I received my red scarf today and it is lovely - it certainly feels very soft and light and is lovely and warm. The red is a muted dark red, not at all gaudy.

Ahh fuck it im going to get the grey one. I dont think ive got the confidence to pull off the brown.

Bemybebe I agree they shouldnt be selling it as cashmere/silk when its not but nobody on here seriously thought it was going to be made of that for under a tenner and Im sure nobody is going to be cutting up and burning their new scarf. Grin

madammecholet · 06/09/2011 15:23

I like your fur coat viva, I am partial to a bit of fur, have fur cardi's, fur snood, fur hut....all faux...fabulous!

bemybebe · 06/09/2011 16:12

semper i am returning mine. i can buy similar (same??) for 2.99 from a stall on the market here on saturdays.

i have better things to buy with my tenner Grin

SemperUbiSubUbi · 06/09/2011 16:20
Grin

I do think they should change the description to say what its really made of.

The other week DP bought some Beats headphones for 2/3 of the RRP from a seller on Ebay. It was only when I pointed out that the price was too good that he realised they were fake. We asked for a refund, they refused and said we should have expected them to be fakes. So we opened a paypal dispute, got the money back, gave him shit feedback then reported him to Ebay. His page is gone now.

bemybebe · 06/09/2011 16:37

2/3 off RRP is not unusual for genuine quality things if one looks hard enough or lucky to just come across some. I have bought a Newman proper leather chair from Habitat for 405 GBP down from 1400-ish. agree, they are in administration but it is brand new and real leather, not glorified plastic!

on August bank holiday I bought Royal Worcester bone china plates and cups from Dawsons Department Store at 70%off RRP. Not seconds mind you, but very significantly reduced because they are made in China rather than England. But the full Royal Worcester marking and very decent quality.

So, I am happy to buy stuff at very low (or very high) price as long as I am not misled.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 06/09/2011 17:32

My brown one came and I love it, couldn't give a sod what it is made of.

However, I have about a million several scarves, and a few that are this kind of weight and weave that are cotton, this feels instantly warm when it touches your skin in a way that the cotton ones don't. For that reason I don't think it's viscose either as that is also always very cold when you first put it on.

Someone will just have to set fire to oneGrin

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 06/09/2011 17:36

Scratch all that, if you look at the listing now it says it is cotton/mixed.

baguettecut · 06/09/2011 17:37

I'm just enjoying my new scarf, it looks nice, was a good price, not gonna quibble!

PrimaBallerina · 06/09/2011 17:47

Me too. It has caused me to sashay rather than walk today.

bemybebe · 06/09/2011 17:56

good for them! i have received an apologetic response from the seller. i will return the scarves but I will leave a good feedback
