Sun damaged skin - product/treatment advice

In my 20's I was stupid in the sun. Loved having a tan.

Now I'm 40, I've spent the last ten years wearing factor 30+ and sitting in the shade.

But my face is turning into one big freckle with splotches of light brown on it. I have a map of Africa on my forehead. A dark upper lip. My left cheek has streaks of brown. It's pretty bad. And it's getting worse despite several years of spending wet summers in the UK.

What can I do? Are there treatments available? I wear factor 50 on my face.

What about micro dermabraison or a peel? I think they can help. I'm not entirely sure but giving this a bump for you :)

Micro dermabrasion, vitamin E may also help.

Obagi!!

Yes microdermabrasion is the place to start.

You should also wear sunscreen all year round, the sun is much stronger during the winter months! I use this one: www.sunsense.co.uk/

Hi I have had melasma (pigmented skin - hormone related) for 6 years and had got progressively worse with each pregnancy (3!). Started to really get me down, tried IPL treatments at local salon and it made it worse so please be careful about what you try. I resorted to using Obagi Nu-derm - v.expensive but worth every penny as it has gone!! Can buy products online but would recommend see specialist as they need to assess skin type etc first. I went through The Harley Medical group. I am so pleased I can actually go without make up now and don't need to plaster on the concealer every morning! Hope this helps - I researched this problem loads and this seemed the only thing that consistently worked with everyone! Good luck - I know how horrible this problem makes you feel.
