Bobbi Brown - what's good?

I'm going for a make-up consultation tomorrow: what should I buy/avoid?

I'm 44 and fair-skinned. More wrinkles under my eyes than I would like. Nice, full lips. Smile

They should do a really good job. There really isn't anything bad but particularly good are the gel eye liners.

The new concealer has good reviews but I have not used it yet.

LITTLEGEEK · 18/08/2011 20:39

I'm fair skinned and I like their moisture rich foundation. I used the same colour in the stick foundation as a concealer too. If you don't tend to wear lipstick but would like some colour, they do a lipstick that feels just like a lip balm. I think it was called creamy lipcolour or something like that, it was fab.

I love everything except their mascara which smudges on me ( use tescos waterproof instead)

Hassled · 18/08/2011 20:43

Their concealer is the best I've ever used and I have the dark circles from hell. I love it.

Bobbi Brown is awesome makeup and have used it since I had a wedding trial 3 years ago.

The moisture rich foundation is great, gel eyeliner, their shimmer bricks are gorgeous and I wear their cream eyeshadow everyday, it's the only one I have ever found not to crease. I have yet to find anything that I don't love.

EnjoyGrin

I love the shimmer brick from BB. Lasts ages and covers a multitude of sins. When getting ready time is limited with little ones, a quick sweep of this makes me look more human again!

Love the cream eye shadows. And the pot rouge that you can use as blusher or lip balm.

Tinted moisturiser, tinted eye brightener, and tinted lip shine SPF 15 also good. Together they give a lovely natural but glowy look.

  • gel eyeliner
  • eye liner brush
  • lipstick
  • lip and cheek cream pot thingy

I prefer the mac eye shadows and other mascaras,

ameliagrey · 19/08/2011 08:23

I love their concealer.

Lippies are okay but make my lips tingle- seem to be senstive to something in them, and ditto the eyeshadows with any sparkle.

BTW - I am still looking for a new foundation, but the moisture rich one seems very thin_ I have got used to a full coverage Clinique foundation .

Those of you who like it- does it not seem a bit thin to you?

There is an eye shadow called slate that is a really good all rounder, people comment on it and I bought it as my SIL was wearing it and i noticed, who usually notices eyeshadow. I love their gel eye liners too, graphite ink i think its called is lovely and mauve shimmer.

RamblingRosa · 19/08/2011 09:03

I think all of the Bobbi Brown range is really good. Obviously what you get depends on your colouring/skin type etc.

The gel eyeliners are good if you like eyeliner.

BB is known for having really good foundation colours. I personally like the tinted moisurising balm (like a really moisturising tinted moisturiser in a jar). Her proper foundation brought me out in spots though.

I've got a really nice lipliner in "Ballet Pink" which is a lovely soft pink colour. And I've got a lovely lippy called "Rose" which is a pinky colour but really intense so almost looks red if I put it on thickly. But in a natural way IYSWIM.

I guess the products BB is most famous for are the gel eyeliner, the shimmer bricks, and the foundations/concealers.

Have fun!

i like the gel eyeliner and brush, the new eye brightener and under eye concealer.

I have my eye on the shimmer brick.
