Where can I buy some shoes for my 5 yo boy that will last?? At the minute he wrecks them after 3 weeks worth of playing out and it's costing me a fortune!

Not sure, but I guess go for the cheapest decent ones you can becausehe will grow so fast. I guess you must have tried Clarks, so what about M&s,bhs etc

I seem to have tried them all Confused think I'll just stick with cheap ones for now and replace them often.

I have found a range of shoes called TOUGHEES, and a shop that sells them, Globe Footwear, 326 Uxbridge Road, London W12 7LJ. This shop is a real discovery after years of spending money on shoes for girls that fall apart twice a term. They have a vast range of practical kids' shoes that are very reasonably priced. Toughees do Doc Marten-style shoes ( who have stopped making kids' shoes), and Globe footwear sell many other brands at incredibly low prices (9 pounds for wellies). Everyone buying shoes for the new school term should visit this shop first. The shop has been there for many years, and the staff were knowlegeable and helpful. Don't be deterred by the exterior of the shop... it has excellent stock inside.

I know this thread is old, but I thought I'd update anyway as still relevant. I bought toughees (Herbie) for my DS1 (5) in May and I was unfeasibly hopeful. They looked good when they arrived, but they are just as sh*t as Clarks. 7 weeks of wear, and they have holes in the toes and the tongues are in shreads. They look awful and I'm embarrased to send him back in them, but his feet havent grown, so I'm going to anyway.

The way DS treats shoes nothing would last that wasn't steel-plated.

I'm considering trying the hard style shoes next, like Geox william, because we dont seem to be getting anywhere with the trainer/soft style. Even worse the 'loafer' style - the mothercare ones lasted 3 days, and the Clarks ones 3.5 weeks.
