Just under the skin. How do you get rid of them? As I am getting older I seem to be getting them more frequently. Sad

Me!!!! What the fuff are they?? They seem to scratch off me but I feel almost as spotty as when I was a teenager. I'm 39 by the way.

Do you mean Millia?

You can have them dealt with in a salon, or if really confident you can lance them with a sterile needle and gently press them out yourself...

UpsyDozy · 08/08/2011 18:17

Yeah I get them now and again. I usually find myself messing about with them and slowly but surely they come to the surface and you can squeeze the little hard ball of white stuff out. They take ages though!

coastgirl · 08/08/2011 18:17

They're called milia. You can make a little hole with a sterile pin and squeeze them out but it's not really recommended - it tends to leave a worse mark than squeezing a whitehead IME and looks worse than the spot itself. Sometimes if you give them a very very gentle squeeze every now and then for a good while, they sort of work themselves out, but they're better left alone I think.

TattyDevine · 08/08/2011 18:43

If you go to a salon they can zap them with an electrolosis needle and they sort of fall off a few days later.

Mumelie · 08/08/2011 19:08

Dont squeeze - can make it worse.
I use a sterile pin to pop them out, works a treat and is much easier.

Poodlehorse · 08/08/2011 21:35

I got some recently on my cheeks and used Alpha H Liquid Gold on them fir a few nights on the trot and it worked a treat. That stuff is magic!

Bane of my bloody life! Have yet to find somewhere that treats them though. On a related but off topic note, someone on my FB has named her daughter Milea... Hope she's pronoucning it as Millie because that's just weird.

As mentioned they can be pierced with a sterile needle and you can dig the wee hard white ball out.
Using face cream containing a high level of vitamin A will prevent them (ROC have one) but watch out it turns your fingernails yellow if you don't wash it off your hands!

prolificwillybreeder · 13/08/2011 17:23

I have one near my eye annoyingly.
Would a beauty salon remove it? If not what should I do?

MinnieBar · 13/08/2011 17:26

I just noticed one of these today! Angry
What type of salons do it??

Bonsoir · 14/08/2011 07:31

A dermatologist can remove them for you.
