I'm wearing Collection 2000 Hot Colours Fast Dry (or something) in Milkshake. It's a lovely purpley brown and very natural with one coat.

Dillydollydaydream · 07/08/2011 17:25

On fingernails green with envy with Barry M effects in black over the top.
toenails are naked though.

Ladies who are wearing brands like Rimmel, Barry M etc on hands, do you find it lasts more than a day or two? I find cheap brands are fine on my toes but peel off super-quickly on my hands, while more expensive brands last at least a day or two longer (still a bit frustrating when a professional manicure lasts a week but I have resigned myself to this!). Do you use some kind of super-duper top coat or have some amazing application technique? Or are you all ladies of leisure and keep them nice by doing nothing other than pour tea and maybe peel the odd grape Grin?

piratecat · 07/08/2011 17:29

rimmel bright orange on my toes!

GraduallyGoingInsane · 07/08/2011 17:34

I have Nails Inc Shoreditch (bright pink) on toes, and Nails Inc Warwick Avenue (pale pale pink) on fingers.

I'm eyeing up Portobello Road (duck egg blue), but am unsure if I'm a bit old and past it to be doing these trendy bluey colours!

ggirl · 07/08/2011 17:34

I never spend very much on nail varnish, because I usually get bored of the colour after a few days anyway, so no point spending loads.

Also I am skint

LoveInAColdClimate · 07/08/2011 18:00

Thanks, Viviane (have literally just changed back to my normal name after HP frenzy!). Will buy some of that, I keep seeing lovely colours in Boots but hold off on buying as hate it chipping so fast. Thank you!

ManateeEquineOhara · 07/08/2011 18:03

On my fingernails - gold with teal dots.

On my toenails - a sort of pastel turquoise.

"Big Hair and Nails" by OPI.

It's a vibrant, orangey coral - great for summer and the quality of the product is pretty much the best you can buy (often used in salons).

I've got Essie Mint Candy Apple on my finger nails which is a pale minty green, and China Glaze's For Audrey on my toes (the Tiffany colour). Need to change it tho, I was thinking of Nails Inc Shoreditch on fingers.

As for topcoats, I've repurchased Seche Vite tho I have a love/hate relationship with it. It dries up so fast and then you get shrinkage as it dries on the nails, so Seche Restore, their thinner, is a must if you're going to buy that. I've used Poshe fast dry topcoat in the past and liked that, I've read good things about a Nails Inc fast dry topcoat too.

I SO SO SO want some Essie

Holy shit! That mint candy apple is GORGEOUS!! Holy moly I need that in my life!

Can we get Essie over here yet?!

OP posts:
DoubleDegreeStudent · 07/08/2011 22:41

Essie (and most other nail varnish dreams, except Chanel) here

And Mavala Bordeaux on toes, OPI Cuckoo for this Color on fingers

AmaraDresden · 07/08/2011 23:00

Lol Milk! It takes a good three coats but it is gorgeous. I bought mine on Ebay off an American seller in a bulk order (there's a US brand called Colour Club that I love and got at the same time), used to buy from a US website but the laws on liquids changed :(

I only have one Chanel unfortunately, way tooo spendy for me when I like switching colours often. I do love my Particuliere though!

OPI 'I'm not really a Waitress' on toes. Dark red/chianti colour .(My toenails are quite long so I had to cut first or risk looking like a reject from Twilight)

Haven't got enough fingernail to carry it off.
