All I get is friggin Joe Browns

Ouch!

TracyK · 19/07/2011 19:52

I got a 16 and it fits like a glove.
Darn forgot to look for the ponchos - really like the look of them in the catalogue. Was with ds today - may go back tomorrow on my own!

Sariska · 19/07/2011 20:48

Very tempted by a few bits. Some for DC and some for me Grin. Rather like their version of the Whistles Carrie skirt (can't link - am on iPad). Wonder what it's like in the flesh?

Haven't bought any of their kids' range before. How does the sizing come up? Mine are the long, skinny variety of DC and I frequently find trousers have become more like knickerbockers before they fit around the waist.

Also, I've heard that online ordering is a bit hit and miss. Is that true? Is it worth the effort? I can get to a store that sells the women's range but not the children's. (Not thinking about DH, given that he has just peered over my shoulder, sighed deeply and said, "Oh god!" Not sure if that's because he saw I'm discussing shopping or just because I'm on MN again. Either way, nothing for him!)

TracyK · 20/07/2011 08:26

I don't think I've ordered long trousers for ds before - but their t shirts and shorts are fairly true to size. ie ds 7.5yo and I have to get him the 8, 9 or 10 yo in most places just to fit. H&M I get 8-9 or 9-10 and they are nicely baggy with a bit of growing room. But the style of clothes lend themselves to be baggy iykwim.
I think if you ordered kids stuff online - you could still return it to an adults H&M - so might be worth trying it?

lawnimp · 20/07/2011 09:09

i've found the kids trousers sizing (as adults) to be all over the place. definitely easier and less hassle to try on in the shop

pointydog · 20/07/2011 09:48

Have you seen the awful elbow patches though? SOmeone went too far down the mustard-posh-trouser-colour and pseudo-tweed when they came up with that one.

pointydog · 20/07/2011 09:49

here it is

LovelyDaffs · 20/07/2011 10:47

You are nuts Pointydog I love the elbow patches am looking for one just like it, but suspect the H&M one won't be great quality. It's all part of the heritage look init.

pointydog · 20/07/2011 18:39

Really? Are people liking the elbow patches this season?

No. I couldn't. They are like leggings, never in fashion.

LovelyDaffs · 20/07/2011 19:01

I already said I liked it further up the thread and someone else agreed. I noticed Great Plains are doing one this season too. Just you wait until the autumn, you'll be amazed.

pointydog · 20/07/2011 20:06

eek, sorry daffs. Hadn't noticed your like comment, not trying to beat you round the head.

vesela · 20/07/2011 21:40

H&M have excellent children's winter rain/snow gear, but it tends to sell out fast. The trousers come up a bit bigger than the coats, in my experience.

Sariska · 20/07/2011 22:01

Hmmm, can imagine rain gear selling out even faster than usual at the moment!

Judging by what some of you say, think I need to make the trip and take DC to an actual shop. Eeek.

bananamonkey · 21/07/2011 12:04

magicmelons · 23/07/2011 10:09

I've just ordered quite a few bits for post baby, but the maternity section is crapola, really disappointing as usual. I also bought the elbow patch cardi Blush

BoysAreLikeDogs · 23/07/2011 10:38

have you seen this?lololo

BulletWithAName · 23/07/2011 11:47

These actually look like clown shoes. So so vile!

maxybrown · 23/07/2011 13:33

I find H&M kids big - DS is average height and very slim, tops fit him brilliantly, love them. Think you can only return things bought online back through post/courier though
