I need the world's best looking and most comfortable shoes please

I need shoes that will look okay with jeans or a dress and that it is possible to walk miles in whilst looking reasonably stylish. I would prefer them to be tan or grey, rather than black. By walking I mean sight-seeing/shopping/general wandering in cities, rather than 'walking' in the sense of raincoats, flasks and sheep. Do these shoes exist?

I know this won't be a popular recommendation, but I actually got some nice low wedges from Next's Heavenly Soles range, and they really are comfy. Might be worth a look on their website?

Next shoes don't fit me - the 4s are too big and the threes are too small and anyway, I have vowed never ever to go into Next again unless I want a new sofa. I may end up looking online anyway though and then denying it later!

Geox too ugly from what I've seen before.

I am willing to go with navy blue or another colour if I have to! I want a teeny tiny cushioned wedge if at all possible, rather than absolutely flat. In ballet shoes etc my heels hurt from pavement pounding in soles that are basically nest to the pavement, if that makes sense?

Something must be out there, somewhere!

I have no idea what your taste is like so you may well hate these, but I have really problematic feet and can only wear very small squishy wedges too. I just bought these in both colour ways because they are so my taste and a rare treat to find shoes that I can actually wear and look like a girl. Like I said, they may not be your taste at all but I thought I'd share. They are very comfy.

Thanks Kittens. The heel is a good size and shape but I don't like the rest of it much. Deffo the right lines heel-wise though!

Actually, even some sort of sandal or boot would do - I just want to be comfy but still look nice! :)

Yes, they are a 'particular taste'! I'm on a constant quest for shoes this height and shape. Luckily I love 50s style so those are perfect for me. I would second the recommendation for Camper then I think. Sadly they are generally not my taste but I've tried a few on out of desperation for something comfortable and feminine and they do feel nice and squishy!

I had a bunion removed a few years ago, and although I can now wear a lot more styles than I could before I have been left with the sensation of having a sock scrunched up under the ball of my left foot so can only wear squidgy soles now Sad.

What about these? I have them and find them very comfortable.

My friend has those and loves them, Scarlet. They are a bit too flat for what I'm after though. I find that Clarks' flats are REALLY flat so that the bottom of my heel seems to be banging on the pavement almost.

Havianas.

Most comfortable shoes in the world.

You can get bling ones - sparkly, metal, jewels etc.

Take a look in M and S at the Footglove range.
Very, Very comfortable (I have wide bunion-afflicted tootsies) shoes that I think are quite stylish.
They do a really comfortable and "on trend" brown wedge sandal, not anyway near as high as most you see in the shops at the mo. They're usually £45 but got them in sale for £36.
They look good with trousers and dresses/skirts.
They are wide fitting too which my bunions are eternally grateful for!

I too have this dilemma, I have yet to succumb to clarks, ecco et al. I like flats but most are too flat. Block heels seem to be making a comeback, I have recently bought these and they are really very comfortable and look good with skinnies and straight leg jeans and would also look nice with dresses.<a class="break-all" href="//awww.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=2472444&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=208542&parent_categoryId=208492&pageSize=20&refinements=category~[209961|208542]&noOfRefinements=1" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">these

CDM - I did look at Footglove but the only pair I would have contemplated were wide-fitting and I have v narrow feet.

Party - your link isn't working.

Thanks Party - not convinced by those, sorry. They would probably be great on somebody young and slim and stylish but on me I think they'd have a whiff of 1970s matron of honour!

Remus as per your question, Shoon does have a few branches... a few in london but not sure where else... check the link for where else. They really do have all sorts of shoes but all unified by their comfyness!

I think if you are very careful about the style you choose (!!) its hard to beat Clarks for comfort. I think these would be a really versatile pair of shoes

I like the ones in Gillybob's link. I was whizzing through Asda today and found some really comfy low wedges with very squishy insole in white leather in a sort of cutout flower shape. Didn't have them in my size but the size up felt really comfy. Bargain, too, only £18.

Ballet flats are your best bet for lots of walking.

I have these which are amazingly comfy and look great with rolled up boyf jeans or skinnies.

PMSL at Jimmy Choos being comfy Grin The only Choos worth buying are the stilletos (kitten heals are grim and flats aren't worth the money) and they might be more comfy that crippling Louboutins but they are designed for tottering not walking.

I have a couple of pairs and they always get kicked off at the end of the night so I can stagger to the door barefoot. No matter how anaethesised by alcohol I my feet might be.

Jimmy Choos?
I wish I could afford Jimmy Choos..

My most comfy shoes are my havaianas flip flops or my ballet shoes from office.

LOVE those tan wedges from Clarks and will deffo investigate them for work but they are too formal and too high for what I'm after now. They are very, very me though.

Pmsl at the idea of me strutting around art galleries all day in those huge stiletto heels - I'd kill myself - or somebody else - out of pain and frustration!

I have these Clarks ones in tan and black because they are so comfy. The wedge heel is really low. They would be gallery/walking shoe of choice.

These are lovely IRL and soft and not too high either.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/07/2011 19:30

Love both of those too but too high for what I'm after now. A teeny tiny wedge is what I'm after. I tried some on in the Clarks sale today but the 4 was too big and they hadn't got a three and a half.

Elegant sister on feet all day suggested Geox for comfort and fashion, but they're not plain enough for my taste. Have not yet found her other recommendation, Green(something like Farm?) supposedly prettier than Ecco.

have a look at Arche shoes. they have some at Shoon. They're always comfortable, have squashy heels and soles, and (mostly) look good.

they can be pricey but not quite jimmy choo pricey
