How long do you spend doing your hair in the morning?

Just a bit surprised at seeing how long someone said they spend on their hair on another thread - is an hour or even half an hour the norm?

I never dry my hair (it dries into nice waves) and spend under 10 seconds on it in the morning, running a bit of serum through it.

CoteDAzur · 17/07/2011 19:33

I have long hair, by the way. It's all in the cut, imho.

Zwitterion · 17/07/2011 19:39

About a minute. I let my hair dry naturally into curls/waves, so if I've washed it in the morning just a bit of product.

If dry I just tidy it a bit. .

LawrieMarlow · 17/07/2011 19:40

Depends. If I wash it then washing it takes about 5 minutes and then about 5 minutes drying (do other things while it dries on its own a bit).

Otherwise about 30 seconds brushing and 30 seconds putting clips in (is growing and at an awkward stage).

janmoomoo · 17/07/2011 19:49

Usually wash and let dry naturally after the gym in the evening. So in the morning it is about three minutes flat to drag the GHDs thru. If I do have to wash, dry and straighten in the morning its about 10 mins.

Who has an hour to do their hair in the morning??!

prudaloo · 17/07/2011 20:42

Wash and condition in shower
towel dry and add mousse, then leave while I do make up
blow dry (10 mins)
add wella pro-syler gel
Final touches and hairspray!
So SIX products and about 20 mins in all Sad

dexter73 · 17/07/2011 20:43

Wash then rub a bit of moroccanoil and Boots curly creme through and leave to dry.

TheOnlyWayIsEnfield · 17/07/2011 20:44

Back-combing, kirby grips. Under 3 minutes. I would rather sleep longer than do my hair!

I suppose 10 minutes in total, I wash it every morning in the shower (5 minutes), let it dry while I eat my breakfast and then go upstairs to finish it off. Quick blast to dry it then GHDs and shine spray (5 minutes).

I have naturally straight hair in a bob.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 17/07/2011 20:48

gob on hand

smooth down fringe

job done

ShowOfHands · 17/07/2011 20:49

17 seconds. 19 if I'm sticking a clip in it.

tethersend · 17/07/2011 20:49

Dry shampoo, straighteners and hairspray to backcomb. Then more hairspray.

About 10-15 mins in all.

I try not to stand near naked flames.

chipstick10 · 17/07/2011 20:50

Used to be about 15/20 mins but since it has started thinning and almost receding at the temples it takes me hours. I obsess constantly and try different ways to make it look less obvious. I hate it Sad Angry

ZhenXiang · 17/07/2011 20:53

Normally 30 seconds to run a brush through it and tie back, but have just had it cut so might need to smooth it down a bit as it is shorter now and liable to frizz all over the place if I leave it to it's own devices.

PirateDinosaur · 17/07/2011 20:53

If you exclude washing, about 20 seconds (brushing). If you include washing/conditioning, add in another five minutes.

Karbea · 17/07/2011 20:57

I'd say about 20mins, I'm shocked how quickly you all take on your hair.

If I'm not washing it, under a minute - the time it takes to do two plaits/a pony tail/tie the front back.

If I'm washing it, add 5 mins (the time it takes to shampoo and condition it!).

My hair is very straight, about boob length, reasonably well behaved and v low maintenance - I don't even own a hairbrush! I could do with spending 5 mins blowdrying the roots for volume, but I'm too bloody lazy.

dexter73 · 17/07/2011 21:07

I have very curly hair so the less I do to it the better.

MissBeehiving · 17/07/2011 21:09

Straighteners, bit of argan oil probably about 10 mins

thehairybabysmum · 17/07/2011 21:13

I have v short hair, takes less than 5 mins to dry and rub a bit of product through, can wash and leave if in a hurry though. Was also gobsmacked at the other thread and how long it took!

bigTillyMint · 18/07/2011 08:11

Well, you;ve all made me feel a lot betterSmile

I have shoulder length hair which takes 2mins to brush (and tie up, if I need to) I luckily only need to wash it every 3 days or so, and that only takes 15mins or so, 5 if leaving to dry naturally!
