WTF

Oh very dear

Far far more offensive if you don't look at the model's pretty face and just imagine it on the average school run mum

i love the way the model in the 'oh very dear' outfit looks a bit embarassed!

smartyparts · 17/07/2011 20:18

I think Kate Middleton had the cream version of that fluffy shrug on her wedding day.

wileycoyote · 17/07/2011 22:05

Dahlings, aren't they just Palazzo trousers?

wileycoyote · 17/07/2011 22:06

So, what is so hateful about them?

TattyDevine · 17/07/2011 22:09

To me they are not just palazzos in that they have the pocket thing, and lots of pleating round the tummy, giving a way too volumunous look and the wideness of the trouser is almost lost in the way it goes all the way up, it looks to me more like a rather sad 80's cullotte

Oh and they are 100% polyester. Palazzos should be silk crepe, and preferably vintage Grin

Love the coat Annthology, and love that jacket. Not sure about the fluffy thing but have seen worse.

Its not all bad by the way. There's some okay stuff in there.

There is no one collection where everything is shit. Oh maybe Per Una Grin

OK, Tatty, I concur - the pockets and pleating are unforgivable in this instance. Grin

However, although silk crepe = fab and glam, they also = stains and high maintenance.... so I think polyester/viscose/elastane Palazzos can be OK..

TattyDevine · 17/07/2011 22:33

True, modal jersey etc etc all fine too
You need a nice fluid fabric, but 100% polyester is a bit static inducing Grin

Actually I really hate Next women's wear these days - so am playing devil's advocate..

TattyDevine · 17/07/2011 22:56

I seldom see anything I like

I do buy my daughter's clothes there from the 3 months to 6 years range, lots of tunics and leggings, that kind of thing. But seldom anything for myself...

Yes, I agree, I buy clothes for my sons (aged 4 and 6) in Next, those are nice and well made..
