Oil cleansing method - I have questions!

OK, started this about three weeks ago, am using 1/5 castor oil with 4/5 olive oil and a few drops jojoba oil.
I really like it, my skin does look brighter, but in the last few days I've come up with two big spots, one near my hair line, and one on my jawline, and this morning, seven little spots on my chin.
I think it's because I'm not cleansing the oil off properly, but I can't figure out how to if I'm just using water, as water doesn't clean oil.
Any advice, as I say, I like the OCM, but don't want spots!

So I have oily spotty at times skin...what do you recommend DrMissFoodie?

MissFoodie · 19/07/2011 08:11

jojoba def as a leave on moisturiser - for cleansing try jojoba also and see, if not mix with sweet almond?

Thanks :) Please don't ever leave MN or namechange so I can always find you and badger you with questions!! Grin

Ive been trying the OCM with EVOO and finding it too heavy so I would also like to switch to jojoba/sweet almond oil. Those of you who got yours from amazon, which brand are you using? Also, do you have to mix the oil with something else or can you just use it 'neat'?

Thanks!

I just use any cheap cleanser I have to hand and slap it over my face then use a hot muslin cloth to remove make up and then wring it out and have one last wipe over.

Really don't like the idea of using castor oil on my face!

Aworryingtrend I use Fushi on Amazon, all the oils I have tried from them are very good. You can use it neat :)

Pinot Blush
you can use any oil neat on your face as long as it's natural eg not baby oil -I personally would not use Castor, olive or sunflower, but some do and if it works, then why not?
Fushi make very good quality oils and are reasonably priced - you can always buy a couple and experiment with them alone or mixed at different ratios?
For eye make up removal, the key thing is to use a damp cotton wool pad, not dripping wet. For the rest of the face, apply to dry skin and remove with hot water and muslin cloth (or flannel), takes at least 2-3 rinses of cloth, eg not just one quick wipe!
