Would you wear this dress? Or what 'type' of person would wear it?

this LK Bennett

Just wondering what people think of this dress! I think it looks v nice but it is £££

Do you think it would only be suitable for very formal occasions or could you dress it down to a degree with opaque tights/boots?

If you do like it, go on humour me and pretend that you do, do you think you would get wear out of it?

Also, purely out of interest do you think there is an age range for this dress? If so - what?

Thanks

I wouldn't wear the dress because it is leopard print which has Big Bette Lynch connotations and there is no clever little fashiony details to get beyond the BBL look in this dress and so make it current.

It will date very quickly and so will not be worth the £200.

My mum's got that dress, and very nice she looks in it too.

She is nearly 70, though.

Just spotted this dress in pink for half price on the Nordstrom website- they ship internationally- I think the pink is lovely fwiw.

I would wear a leopard print dress in a heartbeat but that one reminds me of Dorian in Birds of a Feather. Sorry.

I think I like it OP but agree about having to be careful how you accesorize...

You have all got me a little worried now as I have this similar dress

I wore it with black opaques and grey suede wedges....

Is this going to give me the same problems? (sorry for the hijack OP)

Mumblechum took the words right out of my mouth... Bet Lynch!

Kat Slater if she won the lottery?

bonkers20 · 13/07/2011 06:50

TBH it looks like something Cat from EE would wear. The cut is lovely and will look flattering if you don't have massive boobs. The length is nice and would suit a woman in her 40s or a younger woman who wants to cover her legs.

The price though....I'd only consider spending that much on a dress if it was for a very, very special occassion.

bonkers20 · 13/07/2011 06:53

Oh no, just seen it's a v neck. Nope, don't do it.

bonkers20 · 13/07/2011 06:54

whoneeds I much prefer your one. The smaller print must make the difference. Very flattering ruching as well.

Ivortheengine8 · 13/07/2011 07:02

It reminds me of Cat Slater :( sorry

I'm pretty sure an MNer (won't say who) wore that to the Christmas meetup. If not, was very similar. She is very slim, and it looked great on her.

I have the second DVF one from madamecholet and it is fab. Far far nicer than the LK Bennet one.

Too much leopard print. A cardigan/bag/shoes in it is enough. The shape of the dress is nice though. It would look nicer in black with trim of leopard print across the neckline. Maybe it could work if you belted a cardigan over it to break it up a bit.
