I need high waisted, bootcut jeans

I need to tuck my mummy tum in whilst still looking a bit trendy and wearing jeans with trainers or baseball boots. Tried Next ones but they are frankly hideous. Can anyone recommend some? preferably not too expensive :)

Marks and Spencers Per Una jeans are good - actually fit to your waist and the denim is nice and stretchy. I've been wearing them for the last 7 or 8 years now.

I haven't got any at the moment but I did buy some New Look jeans and they were great Smile Can't remember what they were called but they were highly praised on here and cost about £12.....high waisted, comfortable and cheap Smile

tethersend · 09/07/2011 21:38

Here?

TaudrieTattoo · 09/07/2011 22:25

No you don't.

You need to get down to your local Levi's branch and get fitted for some Curve Id's.

Step away from the Per Una high waisted bootcuts. Really. That way madness lies.

Mammonite · 09/07/2011 22:32

I have four pairs of Per Una Roma bootcut jeans Grin. None of them are as lovely as my old Levi 627's but they are cheap as chips and generous with the Lycra if you gain a few pounds. Sorry I fear I've gone beyond help tawdryhepburn...

SindyTellsMe · 09/07/2011 22:34

Wellllll... I have also just bought a pair of "skinny boots" from M&S for about £15 and they are lovely, not per una, but standard range with a birthday voucher. Quite high-waisted. Buy a size down though as mine are starting to sag around the bum.

nbee84 · 09/07/2011 22:34

Levi's are all well and good if you've got the money. I usually wear Asda or Tesco as that's my budget. I spend a bit more on the M&S jeans and keep them for 'best' rather than scrabbling about on the floor with the kids.

I know Per Una gets slated here on Mumsnet - and to be honest I wouldn't wear most of their clothes - but I've always found the jeans to be a good fit.

nbee84 · 09/07/2011 22:40

Just been on the Levi website - I am a demi curve, sounds nice Smile It didn't ask what sort of tummy I had though.

Prices were £56 -£100 Shock

TaudrieTattoo · 09/07/2011 22:43

I have perunaitis, I'm afraid...

I know Curve Ids are expensive, but jeans are a staple. Cost per wear, they're a bargain.

Save up and treat yourself. Honestly, they're so good.

pink4ever · 09/07/2011 22:48

Peacocks bootcut jeans are fab!! only discovered them a few months ago. £12 a pair and wash much better than the next or new look ones.

Mammonite · 09/07/2011 22:49

No we've got perunaitis, you've got perunaphobia

TaudrieTattoo · 09/07/2011 22:50

Yes, you're probably right...

kyacat · 09/07/2011 23:04

Oooh the Levi's look great! I am so poor though, on maternity pay at the moment. I'm going to try M&S and Peacocks, keep me going until I save up for Levi's.

New look were always where I got my jeans before but since DC2 they are just not flattering or comfy. My tummy always works its way over my waistband Blush

Bon Marche are fab for post baby tummies, and cheap and hardwearing too. Not quite up there with Levi in kudos terms, admittedly, but comfy!
Hope this doesn't get deleted on grounds of good taste....

nbee84 · 09/07/2011 23:23

timetosmile - my nan shops in BonMarche - I've glanced in the window (making sure I know nobody around me) but I've never been able to set foot through the door Grin Wink

Must agree with Tawdryhepburn on this. DO NOT BUY CHEAP JEANS! A good pair are worth their weight in gold IMO. They get worn more than anything else you own.
