Eyebrows

Have been allowing my fair brows to grow and am trying to reshape. They weren't over plucked just quite a thin shape. I've persevered and think they look better but I need a really long wearing brow pencil/product that lasts. my present one (No 7) has evaporated in a warm environment, where I spend most of my time, by mid morning.

Thanks Smile

Skybluepink? Have seen your input to the thread about L'oreal/Lancome. You are a professional? Can I ask, have you a recommendation for a high street cheaper version of Benefit Posietint? Hope you don't mind.....Smile

I use a Bobbi Brown one which honestly is the only eyebrow pencil I've ever used that (a) looks natural and (b) stays in place.

midnightexpress · 18/07/2011 10:34

The Benefit browbars will tint your eyelashes for a not very much money. They will do them subtly too so you needn't look like Groucho Marx.

skyebluepink · 18/07/2011 11:23

Hi kitty, no I don't mind at all.

Superdrug have a very cheap range called 2true which contains copies of posie tint and benetint

www.superdrug.com/lip-paint/2true-cheek-n-lip-tint-in-shade-2-blush-pink/invt/548820/

This is an example of something that I would be happy to get cheaply, though I haven't actually tried it.

You might be a pro at it already, but with a product like this if you struggle with the application you can always mix with a bit of foundation to make it more creamy and less likely to streak or get stuck in pores. Now I am giving unsolicited advice!

MissKittyEliza · 18/07/2011 16:15

Thanks for that ! Will look......and hope they have a tester Grin

I tried the 2true "Benetint" and it was awful, so watery it didn't work at all., not a patch on the real thing.

Just bought the GOSH eyebrow pen, they did have one dark enough for me, will try it tomorrow and report back. I have to say I have been very impressed with everything I have tried from GOSH, their eye primer works very well.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/07/2011 18:43

Right, couldn't wait till tomorrow, tried it just now. Even though the pen looks very dark brown, it actually came out still a bit too milk chocolate for me (better than the Boots one though). So, I'm going to use it as a base under the Eyelure pencil, which is darker, in case of accidental brow wiping.

taokiddy · 18/07/2011 18:50

I recently had mine tattooed (semi permanent make up) and i love it! I've always had them dyed but it never seemed to last long. Its great if you're short on time or do sport etc.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/07/2011 21:29

I've been considering that too, but find the thought a bit scary, as well as expensive. Did they look fine straight away or was there any redness/soreness? How long is it supposed to last?

wasabipeanut · 18/07/2011 21:36

I use the Bobbi Brown one too. It's like a sort of brow mascara and it shapes and darkens them a shade. Stays put and doesn't make me look like a clown.

RMutt · 18/07/2011 21:44

Mine are very pale too.

I get them threaded into a good shape then I tint them myself.

skyebluepink · 20/07/2011 13:15

Kitty there's another brand in superdrug called me me me which has a gel-like pink product like posie. The whole range is a bit of a benefit rip off but that's fine by me! Anyway I tried it and at first I thought it was a bit weak but actually it's very pretty and less flourescent than the benefit one. So thumbs up from me. It's called poppy tint

JanMorrow · 20/07/2011 14:17

I've heard it's better to use powder (ie a matte eyeshadow) on your eyebrows as it looks more natural.. maybe try that?

MissKittyEliza · 20/07/2011 19:31

Jan.... Thanks for the tip but really happy with the GOSH pen one, now.

Sky..... Will try that, if they stock it in my (weeny) Superdrug branch. Thanks.

After reading this thread I went and bought the GOSH pen and it's brilliant. Bought the darkest brown one and when I applied it my eyebrows were a worrying shade of auburn! Once it had dried it was a really good colour, far easier to apply than a pencil and lasted all day. I'm a total convert now.

MissKittyEliza · 21/07/2011 09:00

Oooh nice, thecatsmum. My shade is called Venetian Brown and it too comes out with a reddish auburn look. Once dried though, it's the perfect brown for me, as a fairish blond with highlights.

Where can you buy the GOSH pens? Going into town today to get my brows done so will try to pick one up if I can find a stockist.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/07/2011 09:41

Superdrug are the only place that sells Gosh. I have revised my opinion of the dark pen, it looks too reddish when you put it on but dries darker, am very happy with it.

MissKittyEliza · 21/07/2011 09:43

WhoKnows.... What shade did you buy?

OP posts:
midnightexpress · 21/07/2011 09:43

Thanks, I'll get one there then. I'm dirty blonde, tending to red, pale skin. Do you think the Venetian Brown would be the right colour?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/07/2011 09:46

The darkest one, my brows are very dark brown, almost black, but very sparse.

MissKittyEliza · 21/07/2011 09:46

Possibly. It's quite red till it dries to (darker) brown. Hopefully, they won't have had their testers stolen!

cardoon · 21/07/2011 11:28

Thank you MissKitty, I bought the "wheat" one and it's perfect for me.

My brows are quite dark - I don't know what kind of wheat they were basing the colour on Confused

MissKittyEliza · 21/07/2011 12:00

Yes, I think the shade names are odd!
